"Had a family get together last week, great atmosphere, nice staff and lovely food. Except..... I always say a good roast dinner rests or falls on the quality of the roast potatoes and unfortunately these were not good. Overcooked and very hard, couldn't even cut in to 1 of them and parsnips undercooked and raw in the middle. Shame because apart from that everything else was lovely"

"My favourite pub on the island. It’s comfortable, welcoming and had a great range of food and drinks. Dog biscuit on welcome for your furry friend, outdoor seating which is beautiful is summer and right by the sea. Its interior is rustic but modern, and staff are always quick to serve and poor your favourite drinks. There’s also board games and booths, a pool table and live music. It’s exactly what you want from a pub Price per person: £10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: Loaded Nachos, Sunday Carvery"

"We have dined here a few times due to a previous pleasant experience hence thought we’d eat here again but, on this occasion, the service and hospitality was extremely disappointing. Our dining experience wasn’t the same perhaps due to new management Jacey’s used to be called The Queen Phillippa. When we arrived, first of all, the restaurant was empty. We ordered food after which another couple arrived. The waitress, upon observation, was extremely attentive towards the couple sat next to us having cleared their plates from the table as soon as they had finished their starter and main courses. She completely bypassed us, nor did she clear our plates until we asked for the bill. Two additional members of staff, furthermore, checked in on the same table, asking if they were ok and, once again, completely ignored us. A group of males also arrived, were seated and checked on regularly. Why not treat every table the same? Isn’t that true customer service? I’m not one to use the race card but if you’re a person of colour beware of this place now that it’s under new management #justsaying #callingyouout"

"Certainly one of the most popular hotels I stayed in the UK during my time! Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed by the staff and general manager, our names were mentioned on board and we were updated to the Paradise Suite. The staff was very friendly, the restaurant was very flexible (to observe this! and the restaurant manager deserves a special thanks. We had two great evenings here that were of course added to the experience. On the second day we made a village trekking. I really enjoyed running the three of us through the village. The landscape was beautiful and it was a relief, on foot in such a quiet and peaceful environment. The natural bath at the end was a great way to finish the trekking. Note that this is not a 4/5 star hotel or so, but the atmosphere is so special that it really felt like at home. All respect for the General Manager, who does a good job here; a true sample of excellent hospitality!"

"Unfortunately the food and service let our evening down. Staff not knowing the drinks menu made it difficult to order drinks. Table slightly sticky. We found the selection of food at the buffet to be extremely basic and cheap. They put pizzas in their...buffet? Most of the cooked Chinese food is dry and rubbery. This is because the food has been reheated. Probably left over from lunch or the day before. Singapore rice noodles barely had any meat in it. Same with the spring rolls. I had one spring roll that was empty. Never had that before in my life. Desert area is also dry. My guess is because it is left open all the time. Drinks were alright, however massively over priced. When you sum up per adult and actually look at there pitiful food selection of dry left over food you're simply wasting your money! Try Spoon World in Chatham!"
