What a lovely hotel. This was my second year -I came back with my daughter and a friend. We shared a family room on the top floor with an amazing view. Everything was wonderful- the food, the service, and the location. Rooms: 5 Service: 5 Location: 5

This is a hotel/restaurant, but all are welcome to eat. They said they could do anything on the menu gluten-free. I had the pumpkin burger with gluten-free bread and French frits. They also had bread available. Very friendly and competent staff. In any case expensive and on the chic end, but worth it.

Amazing highly recommended. Great location, amazing views from the balcony rooms, and the staff are so friendly and welcoming. We stayed here on our arrival day! Great food in the garden, very, very friendly service! Since we only saw in the elevator that same evening in our hotel that there would be an August 1st buffet, we canceled the second evening at the Hotel Bären. We were invited for two nights, when we saw Hotel Bären, we said to ourselves, should we be able to pay for Wengen ourselves, only Hotel Bären, half board!!!

Great location/service/food, but unfortunately the room really was not up to standards. We stayed in the Kleiner Bär chalet, and there were no blackout curtains in the bedroom, which really disrupted our sleep. Most of all, despite a minimum temp of 7 degrees outside we could not turn on the heating because our stay was during summer. We were unlucky with the weather which meant se spent more time in the rooms, and it was just really cold inside. We ended up leaving one day early because of that and no discount was offered. Unfortunately we won't be coming back. Nearby activities: Playgorund right outside, perfect for toddlers and babies. Food drinks: Offered gluten free options.

We booked their best room 301 and the room is very nice with a fantastic view. You see Jungfrau directly on the balcony. And mountain view from the bathtub! 100 points for the room. Food is okay. Good breakfast, dinner less impressive. Service is a bit random but I understand it is more or less the standard in this country? Housekeeper left a bag of trash in the bathroom one day, and the bathtub did not appear to have been cleaned during our stay. Now please be aware that the balcony is shared with room 302, meaning there is no separation in between. We have the misfortune of having super loud people staying at 302 during our entire stay. We stayed at the Hotel Restaurant Bären in mid August 2023. Our hotel room was on the 2nd floor and faced the mountains. The view was absolutely incredible I probably could have sat on the room's balcony and just stared at the mountains all day! ...but there was too much to enjoy in the region, so it was good that it was easy to get out and about from the hotel. It's located a few minutes outside of the center of Wengen, but that's not a detractor! It made for a more serene stay, I think. The hotel is located downhill from the center, so if you have any issues walking uphill, you can opt to take a (very short taxi ride when needed.
