"Unsere Gruppe übernachtete im Hotel Oberland. Wir fanden die Speisekarte ziemlich gut für ein so kleines Restaurant. Das Essen war gut zubereitet, traditionell. Unsere Kellnerinnen waren sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Obwohl unsere Gruppe ziemlich groß war, hatten alle einen recht prompten Service, der Spaß machte. Ich war sehr zufrieden mit dem Frühstücksraum. Wenn Sie dort bleiben, ist die Auswahl großartig, sehr schöner Kaffee, der von der Tasse mit vielen verschiedenen Optionen zubereitet wird. Schöne frische Früchte, Müsli, Käse und Brot."

"We visited as a family in August. The restaurant is on the a nice path going out of the village. It was full by the time we arrived but they managed to accommodate us about 10 minutes later, which was very nice. But then the...unthinkable happened: my elderly (80 year old) mother wanted to join us at the table and failing to realize she was with our party, despite the fact that we said we were a party of 5 and only 4 at the table, the owner was extremely rude to her. She is an oncology patient and still needs to wear a mask and when she tried to explain she was with us, she was yelled at by the owner that she couldn't and that he couldn't understand anything with the mask on. I have never seen anyone so rude in the hospitality industry. It is totally unacceptable (even if he thought he was right, which he was not -he just did not understand we were together) to treat an elderly person like this with such disrespect. So I have to echo other reviews that mention the rudeness of the owner and it was a big let down nearly ruining the day. The food was ok but nothing spectacular."

"We stayed at the Hotel Restaurant Bären in mid August 2023. Our hotel room was on the 2nd floor and faced the mountains. The view was absolutely incredible I probably could have sat on the room's balcony and just stared at the mountains all day! ...but there was too much to enjoy in the region, so it was good that it was easy to get out and about from the hotel. It's located a few minutes outside of the center of Wengen, but that's not a detractor! It made for a more serene stay, I think. The hotel is located downhill from the center, so if you have any issues walking uphill, you can opt to take a (very short taxi ride when needed. The room itself was somewhat small, but very clean and sufficiently well appointed, and you could reach it via a lift. It didn't have air conditioning, but opening the balcony door/window in the evening cooled everything down quickly. (We were there on a couple of very warm days. We also had great breakfasts and a very nice dinner at the hotel their food and service is excellent and friendly. I'd definitely stay with the Hotel Restaurant Bären again and hope to make it back to the Wengen/Lauterbrunnen Valley area sooner than later."

"Very good Indian food in Wengen. This is the only Indian restaurant near Lauterbrunnen, but the chef was very friendly and prepared the food as per our requirement. Would visit again if in Wengen."

"I have eaten here before and remember really liking it. Recently came back for a 10 day stay and when they said cash only, we initially walked out. Came back days later with Euros (they accept that and US along with Swiss Francs) and so glad I did. As I remembered the food is exceptional. Szechuan Chicken was incredibly tasty. Green Curry Chicken was also really good. We also ordered a Pak (Bok) Choy vegetable dish for the middle to share and it was perfectly cooked and delicious on its own. We have one full day left in Murren and now we must go back and eat here again. I wish there was a Chinese place with food this good in Orlando, Florida where we live."
