"This restaurant is a fantastic spot to relax and take in the view. The Heron was cozy and inviting on a chilly December afternoon. We loved the roaring fireplace and the friendly staff, who humorously told us that it never snows in Cornwall... the day before a snowstorm hit. While we didn't have a full meal here, we enjoyed a few drinks and some delicious cheesy chips, all of which were tasty. We would have liked to sit outside on the beautiful terrace overlooking the river if it had been a bit warmer, but we'll save that for our next visit to Truro."

"Stopped in on the off chance to see if they did a Sunday roast. We were cutting it fine, but the lady behind the bar managed to squeeze us in, albeit outside. Nice, independent selection of beers and cider on tap. The roast was lovely, only two roasties, but this was more than made up for for a plentiful portion of lamb and a massive Yorkshire pud! Very good selection of veg brought out and everything was super tasty (top marks for the gravy! Only marked down for loos, bit dark n dingey and no sign of mint sauce! (outside so couldn't take the time to go and ask for it as my food would go cold! All in all, a cracking little pub, well worth the diversion!"

"The Roseland Inn in Cornwall is a must-visit, as long as you have a car to get there. If not, it's worth the adventure to arrive on foot to enjoy the great ambience both inside and outside the restaurant. They serve the best fish and chips in the area, but it may be a bit pricey for mainland Europeans. However, the fun atmosphere makes up for it. The average price per person is between £20-30, and the food, service, and atmosphere all receive a 5-star rating. Parking options include free street parking."

"I went here for dinner with my wife. As we approached the landlady was smoking on the doorstep and she flicked the butt into the weeds. No greeting as we walked in from the landlady. The staff were friendly though. I ordered spicy chicken breast and my wife ordered sea bass. The chicken looked like a frozen ready meal, but not as appetising. When it arrived the waitress had to keep stopping, despite wearing oven gloves, because the plates were too hot to handle. The chicken tasted deep-fried and microwaved (not sure how they managed that). The sea bass was oily and accompanied by soggy veg. A truly shocking experience and right up there with the worst pub food we've ever had."

"I telephoned the New Inn on Saturday evening to book a table and the bar manager went out of way to rearrange tables and fit us in for Sunday lunch. We received a warm welcome and a prompt service. The food was excellent. The meat in the Sunday roast was tender and the portions were generous. One of our family chose a vegetarian option of the sweetcorn fritters and they were crisp and tasty. The desserts were 'out of this world ' especially the homemade cheesecake. We have not visited the New Inn before even though we live close by, but can strongly recommend it. It was excellent value for money and the Inn definitely had an 'old world ' charm to it. We will certainly be returning and will be telling all our friends about it as well. Thank you to all the staff, a wonderful experience"
