"This restaurant is about 100m down the hill from our Pension. We walked in an were greeted by a waitress in traditional dress. We were shown to our tables and when they realised we were English gave us a comprehensive menu in English (not the complete menu though). We were given a salad starter accompanied with bread and herb butter. Which was a bonus as we only ordered a main course. We both chose a Venison main dish both were delicious. My venison was served in a rich gravy with spätzle and cranberry sauce. My husband had venison with potato hazelnut dumplings in a sauce. Hubby had house red and I had a medium sweet white. Both were good quality. Nice atmosphere. Good was well presented and full of taste. We shared a dessert of walnut ice cream in a liqueur which finished the meal off a treat. With tip the meal came to €70 which we thought was reasonable for this quality of dining. A very enjoyable meal. Would recommend this restaurant."

A good place for lunch. We had some soup and two main courses, everything tasty and well served. Nice service, if only the prices could be a little lower...

We had a very good diner for a reasonable price. Beautiful (local) wines and whisky's, even a local whisky. Pleasant staff, nice location. Overall an excellent experience. Highly recommended.

We had dinner here on a winter night. The food is very well and tastefully prepared. The menu has a choice of game. High quality. Personnel was, unfortunately, in a bit of a hurry and could be a little more friendly.

We stopped here for a rest and had kaffee und Kuchen. One was a rhubarb with marzipan and the other apfel strudel. The rhubarb was really heavy with the marzipan but I didn't check it out before ordering. All in all, very delicious though. I liked seeing someone wearing dirndls finally. Wish more people would.

Had a very nice meal at the restaurant. Carrot cream soup, deer ragout, lamb shoulder and salads. All very yummy. Nice atmosphere. A step up from the other restaurants we went to near Titisee. The server even took our two year old to the play room so we could enjoy our main course in peace. Reasonable priced with main courses for around 20€.

Though we try not to dine twice in the same place we liked the food on the first night so much, that we decided to make an exception and dine at the hotel on the second evening . The second night was just as good as the first one. The fish, the schnitzel , the ragout were fantastic as well as the fresh salads and the soups. In addition, although the restaurant was very full the service was very friendly and helpful... helping translate from Germane to English making sure that my food selection will be with out lactose as I'm lactose intolerant... I highly recommend this restaurant !

We had a great time. Two of us had the mushroom soup and it was very delicate and yummy and the other two shared the salad with goat cheese which was great. Then for main courses we had the Wiener schnitzel, a steak and the salmon, all really good. We wanted to have the cheese strudel if i'm not mistaken but it was already too late as it needs some time preparing so we had the sorbet. I suspect it should be well worth the wait, so if you're smarter than us (...) ask for it in advance - hopefully I'm not leading anyone on here. All in all it was a very nice cosy experience, great view (while there's still light) and a very helpful staff! I would really love to come back.

As I am not always the best planner, I love to bump into a great find. We went here based on the recommendation of our pension owner and enjoyed every minute of it. Typical atmosphere with nice wooden accents and beams, a beautiful chimney and large windows to watch the beauty surrounding you. We worried a bit if we were underdressed, but not at all. Definitely a mix of all types dining and the food did not disappoint. My meat loving hubby actually ordered a vegetarian dish with mushrooms and Knödel...so yummy. I went for the traditional schnitzel. Some of the best I've had in Germany and I've tasted quite a few. My favorite was how they served the lemons on top without the rind so you could...

Have been here many times.Generally excellent food and service. Probably my favourite restaurant of this type in Deutschland. Did however have an annoying response from (the owner's daughter no less!) on Saturday night when (after not having been greeted by the new waitress as we walked in - Rule No. 1 I would have thought) I was not satisfied with the wine I had ordered. The owners's daughter was far from sympathetic and handled the situation badly I think. She even went as far as to question my memory of the last time I had the wine in question!! (Only rarely in Germany is the Kundin König!) I guess she could not have known that tasting, buying and selling wine was my profession for many y...

"For years we have been making a carnival holiday in Hinterzarten and until last year we have always been home guests in the Schwarzwaldhof; details about the hotel and the restaurant I am saving at this point, that can be all on the Internet under [here link] also the menu. Especially at the carnival time (or even at Christmas) there is a lot of going on in hints and in most restaurants you have to get really luck without booking; this applies both at lunchtime and in the evening. Individuals or couples may have luck; Groups are odd. We ate the peasant vesper plate at the peasant stable of the Schwarzwaldhof in the afternoon; as they already know and at the price of just EUR 7.00, this plate is already almost unbeatable. Two slices of coarse liver and bloodworm, each two slices of swarms, bacon and black forests of hamspeck, onion rings, cucumbers and dark peasant bread. Tastes really very good and is saturating until evening when you brush the plate completely. Here the price/performance ratio is really very harmonious; for all dishes, especially from the lunch or evening ticket, this does not apply in the Schwarzwaldhof. And for me a little manko on the edge: there is no red house but Fürstenberg! The ambience in the peasant stüble is extremely rustic and somewhat antiqued in the other restaurant rooms. The rooms are okay; above all we liked the tower room with skybed very well! Our serviceman in the Stüble was, first of all, talkable, and straight to a Lexicon on two legs; for hours, I wouldn't have carried him, good friend back or back!"
