simply fantastic. The three course fixed option is tremendous value and food of the highest quality. Dessert doughnuts to die for!

21 is a smart restaurant with high quality food. We enjoyed the food and wine. It did lack in atmosphere being a little frantic. Maybe we were unlucky.

Visited early on Tuesday evening. Didn’t think we’d need to book, but very glad we did as was very busy. Had a tasty meal from the set menu. Highlights included the ceviche and slow cooked beef. Was excellent value and service was great. Highly recommend at visit.

Once again a very good evening at 21. It was a menu set around wagyu beef, it was fab. From the wagyu cottage pie onwards . The wine pairing was very nice as well. The only gripes I have was that the room seemed a little overcrowded the Pear desert was not to my or my daughters liking a heavy on the ginger for me .

21 is a terrific restaurant connected somehow to Cafe21 and the Saltwater Fish Company at Fenwick's this place is down close to the Quayside hidden round the corner. It is fabulously luxurious and highly atmospheric. The food is really excellent to say the least lobster pasta; lemon sole; steak. It's all outstanding. They even attempted to make a cocktail not on the list for a fussy graduate. So great service with a smile too. People of the North East should come here, and all the visitors too. Voir le carte

Great lunch in August. My friends and I are regulars here and booked for a Xmas lunch months ago. Then out of the blue this weekend i received an email demanding a non refundable of £60 to be paid by card over the phone or in person. I was surprised that a deposit hadn't been requested when I made the booking. Also, I prefer not to give my card details over the phone and a visit to Newcastle is a inconvenient. So a bit of a poor show in this respect. Well go ahead with this booking but might go elsewhere in 2024.

Although the food was excellent the barman mixed a great negroni unfortunately the rest of the service was extremely poor. We had the 3 course set menu at lunch time but the only staff contact was when the food bottle of wine was put on the table... we were not given the opportunity to taste the wine which we had to pour ourselves no one asked if we liked the food, not on any of the three courses.....at these prices one expects a good front of house experience aswell as good food, which was particularly disappointing as the restaurant was not busy.....

Every time I eat at 21, I wonder why we don’t come here more often! The food here is always lovely, I’ve never had a bad meal here which is something I can’t say about many restaurants, and the service is just perfect. So many restaurants we have eaten at recently have a very casual approach to service which is fine, but sometimes it’s nice to eat somewhere where you are made to feel a bit special and where nothing is too much trouble. 21 has that off to a tee! We ate here on a Wednesday night and took advantage of the Bring Your Own Wine offer.
