"Wow what a difference in customer service, in comparison to the Hourglass at Piccadilly.. I popped in Here for lunch as I had a cheque of £35 to use from Trg Concessions , after an appalling service in Hourglass at Piccadilly Train Station.. The food here does not offer homemade burgers but Italian food. Approaching the Italianesque restaurants, we were greeted and seated outside with great enthusiasm. I could not fault the level of care from beginning to end. Even the manageress came out several times to ensure everything was okay. To start we chose the garlic bread to share accompanied by mushrooms rissoto balls. I have to say this was surprisingly one of the best garlic pizza breads I have had. The base was light and airy with lots of garlic...nom! The risotto balls were tasty , firm on the outside and soft and ricey in the middle. The Mains where everything drops slightly in wow factor. It is rare I choose a veggie dish, but I decided on the butternut squash with pine nuts, and my companion the chicken scallops. The presentation was not great , and mine was just a roast butternut squash, no hidden surprises and a bland salad to match..also not enough pine nuts! The chicken was also apparently bland and very dry... The Peroni was good to wash this down..Overall I think this place is a tad pricey in reflection to what you receive. If they offered the same quality and variety of food as the Hourglass but maintain the high level of customer care this would easily be a 4 star place."

"Thank you for the hospitality that I received when visiting your Media City restaurant last Friday for a pre-theatre meal. Food and Menu There is a simple menu that includes all the Italian and American classics that people love to eat. The choices are limited however it does cater for a range of diners from the Meat lover to the Vegetarian. In the Starters there is a Garlic Pizza Bread that is tasty with a great Garlic aroma. There is also American Style Nachos with Jalpenos and all the sauces to dip into. It also has Calamari, Ribs and the Chicken Crunch too. In the Mains there is a great selection of Pizzas with good flavours. There are also additional toppings that you can add for an extra charge. There is also a decent variety of Steak, Pasta and Salad dishes for those that fancy those too. For the Burger fan there are some Beef Burgers and a Chicken one too. There is also a wide variety of sides that are a great addition to your meal from Chips, Sweet Potato Fries to Onion Rings and Garlic Bread too. For those with a sweet tooth then there is a selection of popular Desserts including the Warm Chocolate Brownie, Cheesecake and, Tiramisu that is creamy and indulgent to eat. If you like cold Desserts then there is Ice Cream and the Knicker Bocker Glory. For the Starters the Garlic Pizza Bread was tasty however it was too crispy and crunchy to eat. It is usually soft and scrumptious to eat. The Calamari was pleasant to eat but could have been cooked better as it was a bit rubbery to eat. The Chicken Crunch was delicious. It was cooked nicely and the Mayonnaise dip went well with it. For the Mains the Chicken Fillet Burger was well cooked and it was beautifully presented. It was tasty and heart-warming to eat. The Salad and the Mayo added more flavour otherwise it would have been bland just having Chicken inside a Burger Bap. The Sweet Potato Fries were comforting to eat. They were crispy on the outside and were soft on the inside. I love how they are presented in a small pan dish. Cute. The Onion Rings were OK but they broke apart every time I ate them. This suggests that they should have been cooked better to give them a solid texture and stop them breaking. The Dessert was the stand out course of the dinner. The Chocolate Brownie and Ice Cream was lovely in I ts presentation. The Brownie was cooked to perfection. It was not hard to eat or runny with gooey and indulgent Chocolate. Heaven. The Ice Cream was great too as it cut through the richness of the Chocolate adding texture. Drinks They have a good selection of soft drinks which include all the popular ones to have. There is also a small variety of juices on offer too. However they do not serve non-alcoholic Mocktails. Service The service was good. Our waitress was friendly, welcoming and attentive. She gave us the time to choose our dishes. Her suggestions for food were spot on. It was good that the food came out pretty quickly and it was beautifully presented. Lighting and Access The lighting at this restaurant was pretty bright which allows for an enloyable meal for most people including those with visual impairments. Entry to this restaurant is at the Holiday Inn Hotel to which there is a small step to enter into the building. Once inside there is both stairs and lifts to get to the Mezzazine floor. This is where you will find the restaurant. Furniture The furniture here is brilliant. I love the big tables which are spacious. The chairs are big and are comfortable which gives a relaxed ambiance so that you can dine in style. Parking Parking is available at the Quayside Media City UK multi-storey car park (formerly The Lowry). If you are a Blue Badge holder then you will get 4 free hours when stamping your ticket. This takes effect from the time of arrival. Alternatively you can park at the Media City multi-storey which is closer to the venue. Pricing The pricing of the dishes at this restaurant are mid range to fine dining standard. However it is worth it especially if the waiters are good, the food is tasty and that it is beautifully presented. If you love to eat Italian and American food within a relaxed atmosphere then head down to your local Marco’s"

"Just visited here for tea. Have eaten from here in previous years and it was good food, hence we returned. After ordering, we waited over 40 minutes and still had not received our order, despite our friends having ordered from other food outlets at the same time and received and eaten their food. Returned to the tender cow outlet to find out how much longer our order would be. I was horrified to watch the staff playing with customers food: picking up chips off customers’ plates which were waiting to be served) and playing with them. This seemed totally disrespectful and unhygienic I’m sure the staff wouldn’t like to eat at a restaurant knowing their food was being manhandled unnecessarily)! I was told after 45 minutes of waiting that my meal would be with me in 2 minutes. Another 20 minutes later, no food and I had lost my appetite not least because of seeing their poor hygiene standards) ! I went back and asked for a refund to which the server told me that my meal had been delivered already! Insult to injury , I felt obliged to argue and prove that my meal had not been brought to our table and it must have been mistakenly delivered to another table. Eventually the server accepted that we had not had our meal and agreed to refund us. She apologised, but ‘sorry’ didn’t satiate my hunger or allay my annoyance at ruining our evening. Needless to say, I went home hungry but, tbh, after seeing the poor standard of hygiene when handling food, I think I dodged a bullet and definitely won’t attempt to ever eat here again."
