"this is a loouong overdue review of what is, in our view, the most beautiful intimate place for a high time. we got married here on 4th juni 2015 (together it was overdue.) sarah and their team have treated us from the first encounter with greatest respect and understood what we were looking for. they helped us to arrange the dj, who was excellent, and invited us to a menu sample. Many of my families came out of the land so that the accommodation would be a problem, but tottington manor have 12 nice rooms with suite, all fully furnished and each with an individual style. on the day itself they would not have done enough for us. the ceremony was exactly what we wanted. the guests were greeted and shown to the ceremony room. after the ceremony, the employees were ready to serve our guests kanape and drinks. after a very fast rounding round was our room ready for our meal and what for a meal was it? absolutely stunning eating. all our guests have traveled about eating and said they would find it hard to remember a high-time dinner that would be the same. the chef has used very well for friends with food allergies. the evening was very smooth. we had paul fish for our dj booked and the dancing area was never empty. we loved every minute of our high-time day and look back at him. as we were all at the venue, we were invited to deliver our own cheeses, bread and fruits, and the cook prepared them for us after the festivities. in the morning after we were treated to a beautiful breakfast and that beautifully furnished for post high-time celebrations there are not enough stars to say on this evaluation system what we thought about the venue. absolutely amazing from beginning to end. many thanks sarah and team, they are absolutely awesome!"

"This seems to be the house outlet and cafe for Sussex Charmer cheese. Easy to find; just briefly head northwards off the A281 at Rudgwick. Situated on the site of a former brickworks, there's plenty of parking (with many potholes therein). A surprisingly large floorplan includes an attractive elevated terrace which must be very pleasant in warm weather. It being January, like most others, we sought shelter in the rather spartan, and not much warmer, indoor seating area. The menu is basic cafe fare, but understandably predicated on the core product although there are various other options provided by local suppliers. Ordering is done via friendly girls at the till situated at one end of the open kitchen, and what a spotless kitchen it looked too. Mrs EPR endorsed the signature choice of Sussex Charmer on toast. I was equally impressed by my Sussex Bacon roll four slices of top quality back bacon in a soft and squishy roll. However, as any fule no, a bacon roll needs the ketchup of choice and there was none. So I requested some, it was duly acknowledged and then subsequently ignored. So, rather tediously, I had to go and find some for myself but it was well worth it. There is a small amount of retail activity on site, but it is rather minimal and they certainly don't push their own or any other local product as much as might be expected. This location is also handy for the adjacent Firebird brewery which is definitely worth a visit."

"Having had some fantastic meals at this pub when the restaurant was run by the previous chef we had high hopes of the new electro pilot restaurant launched at the Foresters by Matt Gillan. We looked at the menu online which showed a good range of choice so we booked a table to eat on a Saturday night. I ordered the fish and chips described online as battered haddock fillets with triple cooked chunky chips pea fritter and homemade tartar sauce. My husband ordered the cheese burger again with triple cooked chips. What we actually got bearded no resemblance to this! My fish was a very small battered fillet served with French fries not home made and no pea fritter. My husbands burger had a strange looking mayonnaise type sauce in the bun and no cheese and was so sloppy the bun fell apart. Again was served with French fries. We were not at all impressed and our guests did not get their side order of veg. We had to send the burger back which meant my husband got his meal when we had almost finished ours. This restaurant had some great reviews with the previous chef and everything was home made and definitely value for money. It is a real shame as this is a lovely local pub and we often came to eat on a Friday or Saturday evening. Unfortunately we will not be eating again but will still frequent the pub to drink. This review has no reflection on the pub and its staff. Such a shame as it was such a good place to eat locally before."
