"Earlier this year my friends and I, who are regular visitors to the Milk Churn purchased pyrex coffee mugs which were sold advertising 50p off all future drinks. However, on more than one occasion one member of staff has said it only applies to takaway coffee. The original notice did not mention takeaway, had it done so we would not have bought the mugs as we never have a takeaway. Also, I can't believe anyone would buy a glass mug for a takeaway coffee. Most of the staff allow the discount without question but if it is now only to be given on takeaway coffee we have been sold the mugs under false pretences."

I was told that the milk shakes were amazing so I popped in to try one. What a disappointment. Very small takeaway cup with a just off white colour. I had to ask my wife if there was something wrong with my taste buds as...

It felt like the staff didn’t want to be there. Unhelpful and not very friendly. Asked if my young daughter could stand in the distance under the covering as it was pouring with rain. The response was no can’t as we are a take away!...

Visited in December for an early morning coffee and hot roll . Signage to order point was confusing . Having purchased my breakfast I sat in a freezing cold Chalet type building completely open on one side approx 1/3 of the building ....

Good hot coffee and bacon butty, although the bread rolls are very cheap quality for the price. But, the sign says mask or face shields must be worn, of course, but the servers wore neither, or had gloves on. Yes, there’s a Perspex screen, but...

I have visited the Churn several times now and introduced several friends to it. On each occasion we have been made to feel welcome. Served quickly and efficiently, the seating areas are clean and well looked after. The menu is varied and I can recommend...

Dropped in for a cuppa and a cheese scone. Tea was ok, scones seem to have got smaller than I remember, and are very doughy when warmed. My main gripe is that I didn’t appreciate it being cut open for me, but worse still, the server’s finger stuck in to it to test if it was warm enough! Will be a while before we return.

I was disappointed that the macaroni cheese arrived without a slice of garlic bread, it looked very stodgy and it was. FOR £6 was expensive. The cheese on toast is delicious but the bread pieces far too small also for the price.Husband is not one to complain. But he did remark on both. Was looking forward to visiting there, but disapointed.

My friend recommended the cheese on toast. That didn't disappoint however our coffee was lukewarm. I returned the two drinks and it took a while to try and explain that coffee wasn't hot ! I was then told the replacement would be left on the counter but I had to request that one of the many waitresses brought it out to us as my food was then getting cold. Lovely location but need to sharpen up a bit.

"So, the first problem was the booking (and the exact same thing had happened the previous time we arrived at this restaurant with an Open Table booking). I had made the booking online and received confirmation both via email and in the OT app, which I could show at the restaurant. When I made the booking very limited times were available: nothing between 11.45am and 2pm, so we assumed the restaurant would be crowded. When we arrived a little before our 2pm booking, it was three-quarters empty and they had no record of my booking. Since the place was largely empty this didn't matter, but on another occasion it might have done. And maybe one reason the place was so empty was that other potential customers had also seen no availability between 11.45am and 2pm, so Cote had no online bookings. Either Open Table or Cote need to sort out what is wrong with their booking systems as it seems that in Horsham at least the systems do not talk to each other. The food was fine, typical Cote just as you would expect, but the service was disappointing. In a largely empty restaurant one might expect efficient and attentive service but we got nothing of the sort. It was hard to get attention from any server and we had to request some items several times. Someone who from her dress was probably the duty manager, spent most of her time lounging or chatting with other staff members rather than making sure customers got good service."
