"We were searching out paces to eat in Stapleford, and by a lucky chance decided to try this place, Bel Paese out. Its great! Quite quaint and small, run by really nice Italian folk, husband and wife I guess. The waitress was really fun and chatty, and made us feel welcome immediately. We had a starter of Antipasto, which was lovely, just as it should be, and the main courses were fine, partner has linguine and I had a chicken and prawn dish. All the food tasted authentically Italian and nice- really impressed with the chef. We chose the house wine, which was great, and very reasonably priced. We did get tempted by a dessert, which was also fine. This seemed to me to be everything a small place like this should be in terms of quality and value. I cannot understand some of the previous low score reviews. Based on our experience i would ignore them. Sure there is a glitzy posh place a few doors away, if that's what you need, but if you want proper Italian cuisine, this place is the real deal."
