"After hours travelling on the German motorway in poor weather we were looking for a comfortable hotel in the city centre of Passau and we found it in this Hotel. Easily found from the motorway, right in the historic centre, overlooking the river with...easy and convenient parking. The bonus was the restaurant as the weather had turned foul and we did not want to search for a place to eat. The menu was varied with both Bavarian and Serb/Croatian dishes, all very reasonably priced. Breakfast was included in the room price and was a comprehensive buffet which made the start of another long day bearable, Having had dinner we braved the foul weather and explored the immeadiate area of the historic town. Being close to the Christmas feative season we had to see the Market that was infront of the Basilica which was minutes from the hotel. We will be back."

We enjoyed a nice lunch on their patio overlooking the Donau. The Goulash Soup was excellent and the roast pork was very good. The location was very convenient. It’s just around the corner from Domplatz.

We dined here while on our Viking River Cruise and we enjoyed a wonderful lunch. The portions are quite large with prompt service and a friendly wait staff. We had traditional German meals and they were all excellent.

was here for Sunday dinner and it was wonderful. excellent eating, great desserts! great place for a group of friends to hang and a good meal and entertainment. I had really good goulash here. the best I've had for a long time.

Restaurant with a great view over the Danube. Food was ok but very average service! Could tell staff would rather have been elsewhere! Wanted to celebrate a friends birthday and had to end up goin elsewhere, asked for desert and nobody wanted to help! Really...disappointed.

We stumbled across this place following our town excursion. The restaurant was close to the Danube where our Viking ship was docked. We found the food plentiful and the service was courteous for a lunch time meal. We scored a table by the wall, good...view of the river. The food and drinks came to great value, can recommend.

eating here is excellent and coordinated by excellent service. the atmosphere is relaxed and refined at the same time. They are generous without being too large, but the prices are very fair. far from being quick to eat, although the kitchen is in a position, quite complicated to rust. quickly and obviously without resorting to the microshaft. we'll be back when we'll go back to passau.

only had a delicious vegetarian meal and a glass house red on the paulus arch. excellent service. English menu available. my meal was homemade cheese spatzle (similar gnocchi) served with roasted wobble and a generous beside salad. highly recommended. and of course they have meat dishes. great place with magnificent view of the river. my only thought was that there was a small atmosphere missing. Maybe a background music would have been nice.

Right next door to Hotel Koenig and overlooking the cruise boats on the River Danube, although only a few outdoor tables achieve this! Very busy but the service was friendly and fast. The food was excellent with the usual Austrian helpings (large) so be aware....I had a reasonable size glass of Austrian Chardonnay and a Balkan dish of liver and tomatoes with a sauerkraut salad and a Ajoy sauce...delicious all for I can recommend this place wholeheartedly.

"It was shortly before 10 pm and two other restaurants that had advertised having a kitchen open until 10 pm had already told me that the kitchen was, in fact, already closed. Roses was open and the waitress still let me order.I had the Cheesesteak 2 (steak, provolone, bell pepper, onion, mushroom), which came with a small salad dressed in oil and balsamic vinegar and steak fries. It was really a quality meal. The cheesesteak was one of the best I have ever had, and is definitely the best I have had in Germany. I could have eaten two. The fries were hot and fresh and cooked to perfection. The salad was OK, too - my only complaint there was that there were carrot and cucumber ribbons, which looked pretty but were hard to eat.If I remember correctly, the difference between Cheesesteak 1 and Cheesesteak 2 was sliced mushrooms, but the price difference was a euro. A euro seems a bit steep for a couple of pieces of mushroom, so if I return, I'd probably get the Cheesesteak 1 and save the euro. The other food on the menu sounded good, too.The waitress was very friendly and did an excellent job of managing the tables - at 10:30 p.m. on a Monday in winter, almost all of the tables were full and there was only one waitress working.Otherwise, the atmosphere was cozy - a shabby chic French café sort of place. Indie music was playing, and a little bit on the loud side, so if you're on a quiet date or looking for a place to meet up with friends and have a more serious conversation, this probably isn't it.Also, the beers are Hacklberger, but that's not printed on the menu - around here, there's always the risk of getting Graf Arco."
