Spießbraten ist schon eine Kostbarkeit der Region von Idar-Oberstein...Der mit Gefühl gemacht werden sollte, so wie im alten Goten ... Super

Очень красивое место. Вид из окон очаровательный. Приветливые хозяева. И наконец супервкусный гуляш. Очень ароматный. Густой. Жалко что заканчивается.

Onze reis in Oberstein begon hier met een kop koffie. Helaas was de koffie slap en de melk geschift. Wel goede service en een leuke plaats om even te zitten. We hebben geen eten gehad hier dus dat kan ik niet beoordelen. Voir le carte

Wir waren zu Weihnachten im Alten Goten.Wir wurden freundlich empfangen und bestaunten das kleine aber sehr stimmige und gemütliche Restaurant.Leider wurde unsere Getränkebestellung am Anfang scheinbar komplett vergessen und so bekamen wir unsere Getränke erst auf Anfrage. Auch am Nachbartisch gab es Verwirrungen mit der Bestellung. In so einem überschaubaren Lokal muss der Service besser werden.Das Essen schmeckte allerdings sehr gut, der Spießbraten ist sehr zu empfehlen!

Een leuke kaart met veel regionale specialiteiten. Helaas was een van de specialiteiten, Spiessbraten, alleen in de variant varken beschikbaar. (Op het bord bij de ingang stond ook rund en lam genoemd.) Beetje vergane glorie, maar zeer vriendelijke bediening. Met de maaltijd was niets mis. Voor dergelijke prijzen kun je geen culinaire hoogstandjes verwachten. Ondanks de aankondiging dat betalen met creditcard (master, visia en ae) mogelijk is, bleek dit niet het geval. Schwenkbraten oder Spießbraten sind die Spezialitäten des Hauses. Gut bürgerlich ist die Küche, die vor allem mit ihrer Spezialität, über Buchenholzfeuer gebraten überzeugt. Aber auch der Kartoffelkuchen mit Lachs ist nicht zu vernachlässigen. Geschwärmt wurde ferner von der gebratenen Blutwurst mit Bratkartoffeln. Der Wirt ist von altem Schlag, ironisch - ruppig, aber herzlich. Die Einrichtung ist gemütlich rustikal. Erst am Schluss unseres Besuchs erfuhren wir, dass wir im ältesten Fachwerkhaus an der Nahe waren, ein Gemäuer aus dem Jahre 1392 - aber weitgehend renoviert... Durchgehend warme Küche! Wir kommen gerne wieder.

There are two guest rooms, both original with a lot of work and all kinds of decoration, tables and seating do not fit into the ensemble. Very original the wine room of the “old Goten”, which seems to be driven into the back of the rock wall of the workshop. Here you will find some good drops of various excellent local wineries. The boss is a trained and tested culture and wine ambassador at the close and is happy...
