"I've been here once in the restaurant before and was really impressed so wanted to have a takeaway. I'm currently breastfeeding my baby who has a soya and dairy allergy, and I am a vegetarian. This means I'm really restricted about what I can eat and where I can go for food. I sent a message to lots of local restaurants but the only one to reply was spiceden. I was delighted, they sent me a list of foods that could be adapted or were already free from dairy and soya. There was plenty of choice! We had a lovely takeaway, of mushroom Rogan josh, Quorn dansak and taka dhall along with rice and poppadoms. It was fresh, hot and not at all greasy. We were so thrilled to be catered for and will definitely be returning now that we know it's safe. The restaurant itself is lovely too so we might eat inside next time. Huge thanks to the staff and chef."

I called up early on Saturday evening to reserve a table for two and the staff obliged in full. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The food and service was excellent.

another great meal here. we looked long and hard to find a replacement for our favorite curry house when it closed. after many disappointments we found here, and what a sound it was. eat great, and the personal friendly and helpful. What else is there to want?

courteous on the phone, taken away delivered on time and still loveley and warm. eating was overall fresh and delicious with a few freebies as well. After we left a bad departure from here 3 years ago we spice this avoided. the thought would try again and was very impressed and will return. thanks. spice this.

Whenever we decide to have an Indian meal out we always choose the Spice Den in Lowestoft. This also applies to a takeaway. We have spent a number of celebrations there. Anniversaries, birthdays etc. Today 26th July was my 76th birthday and we had a family meal there. The food was excellent, the service was excellent and the staff were excellent. Definitely a 5 star rating.

Absolutely 5 Star Indian Cuisine! Staff are very polite and friendly, sometimes a little quiet but generally very helpful. The food is A*! Not too much oil (like a lot of Indian Restaurants nowadays), and good sized portions. Specials Menu has some unique dishes, and also there is plenty of Fish Courses to choose from too. I can recommend the Chicken Korai and the Chicken Murgh La Papda (which is a unique take on a Korma). They also honour 2-4-1 Meerkat Offers!

Absolutely disgusted with this restaurant, to be ripped off is an understatement! I Asked for a glass of melbec to go with the meal witch was being served,, I was told they don 't serve melbec by the glass only by the bottle,, my friend who is one of the top 2 surgeons in the country suggested I bought the bottle and to have a glass and take the bottle home... which I gladly did at the time,, only to be met with extreme disappointment when I price checked the meal when I got home as thought a meal for 2 people at £106.00 was ridiculous... The bottle of melbec I purchased cost £38.00 which is a total rip off as its less than £8 a bottle..... never will I eat from there again or ever recommend...

"Having been a regular customer for over a decade to The Bell Inn, I was left very underwhelmed this time. Room was lovely and clean as usual, Tom on reception was fab. We chose to dine in the restaurant as normal and booked for 730pm so we had a nice long evening to enjoy eating and drinking. The menu is now very limited compared to previous years, we chose to have 4 starters to share and some rose wine with bread to start. Slight delay on bread, which came crammed on a small plate, which we had to ask for side plates after waiting for the waitress to reappear…the oil and balsamic was awful, there was so much oil chucked in the ramekin we had to ask for another, to pour some off to try and get to the vinegar. Food came out, and was put on table, again had to ask for side plates as we were sharing and still had bread on the other ones. No drinks check. Had to wait at bar to order more. Food was mediocre at best, we both have very good appetites especially after the harbour walk and some wine! but both ended up just picking at it. Ended up going to room with our wine very early, the only other table in the restaurant that was occupied had some sort of problem ordering due to “fryers being turned off” and got sandwiches and chips instead! Slept well as usual. Went for a quick dog walk before breakfast and narrowly avoided being hit by the chef arriving at 845am in the car park. Arrived on time for breakfast at 9am, lovely, lovely waitress served us, ordered full English and pot of tea, partner the same with coffee. Took a sip of the tea and it was barely lukewarm… spoke to waitress who was very apologetic and bought me a fresh one, turns out the rest of the room all had the same problem with tea and coffee as the urn hadn’t been turned on in time see chef comment food came out and was delicious and hot, and top quality as usual, we cleared our plates! Room was spotlessly clean, and the Tyneham hand wash/cream is so good! Overall disappointing as I know how good this place can be, and the first time I’ve ever encountered any problems. As stated before it was not busy in the slightest compared to previous years, so no excuse really. I will return as The Bell holds dear memories for me, I hope next year it will have ironed out these problems and be back to full glory!"
