"The food may be good, but this was not a pleasant experience. My husband and I booked a table at this restaurant for his birthday it was recommended by a local. Because we were visiting the city, we were admittedly not dressed fancy. We also arrived just as they were opening. The blind was still down, but the waitress came and put it up. She didn’t however invite us to enter. We waited a few more moments and entered, gave our name and were directed to a table. We had the impression we weren’t very welcome, and this even though I made the effort to speak Castilian. We weren’t hungry enough to order starters, and this didn’t seem to go down well. We ordered mains but we were not informed that they didn’t come with any vegetables or potatoes or anything. We were given an extra sheet for the menu, but we were told these things (no price) were to snack. If the owner (who took our order) had taken the time to communicate to us that their mains didn’t come with anything, we probably would have ordered sides! Ironically, the fact that we weren’t ordering much didn’t seem to please them, but this was because they jumped to conclusions and didn’t take the time to explain things to us…! My husband ordered wine by the glass. There was only one choice. When it was served, the waiter didn’t show him the bottle (even if he didn’t have the choice, he still might have wanted to see the bottle), nor let him taste before serving the whole glass. The mains arrived with no sides, to our shock, and we ate them. They were very good. We each had a bread roll, and once we were finished with the fish and seafood, we ate the bread and mopped up the sauce. We were never asked if we were enjoying our food. Suddenly, the waitress came over and cleared our plates, not asking if we were finished and giving the distinct sense that they wanted us out of there. She came back and cleared away the bread rolls (unfinished), when I was literally still chewing a piece in my mouth. We felt this was rude and at this point decided we didn’t want dessert there (we would probably have ordered some otherwise). The general attitude, right until the payment of the bill, was snobby. We have been to quite a few high end restaurants, including Michelin starred, and have always been happy in these places to pay more for good food and excellent service. Here we felt the service was rude and haughty, and that we were judged because we look young (this happens a lot to both of us, and I heard the owner refer to me as “la señorita” when I am 34 and married), weren’t dressed up and didn’t order starters. We would not recommend this place at all!"

To dine here was a recommendation from a total stranger Xavi) at the Guggenheim Museum café! We are still much obliged for this excellent recommendation! Very warm and friendly service by the owner and her team. High quality produce cooked perfectly. Delicious fish soup and a fresh rodaballo/ turbot that would have been enough for three at least! Great wine selection, too! We will be back at our next visit!

"I would fly back to Bilbao just to experience this culinary art and visual sensations again. This is where gastronomy meets art. From the projected menu, table-side preparation, to 3D goggles, every dish was well orchestrated and carefully presented. The 14-course Chef Plus menu is the best choice and it was a mind-blowing 3-hour journey. I have been to several 3 and 2 stars Michelin Star restaurants around the world, and this one-star establishment gave me more excitement and surprises than some more famous ones. This is the only Michelin star restaurant that I have been to where you get to see the chef several times throughout the dinner. Their seafood dishes were the best ones I have ever had that I can truly taste the intense flavor of the ingredients, not the sauce. I have had numerous cousins with truffle before, but none of them are memorable. The aroma of the white truffle in the soup I had here today was truly legendary. The number one course for me was the dessert named Caprice of Eucalyptus Raspberry and Tomato. I was curious about the use of tomato in a desert at first, but then it became my most favorite moment of the night. The transformation of a simple ingredient such as tomato into a whole new texture and flavor was just like magic. I have never ordered an a la carte item from a prix fixe menu before, but I did tonight just to experience it twice. Again, the tomato won my heart. The raspberry biscuit was equally amazing by itself, but the shock from the tiny tomato dices hidden inside this dessert was just beyond words. This was easily the best Michelin one-star restaurant for me, and it surpassed some of my past 2-star and 3-star culinary experiences. Maybe Yelp is not commonly used in Spain, so there was only one review about this place. I would not notice this place if I just walk by, since you can 't see inside from the street. You have to ring the bell in order to get in. I went to the adjacent restaurant by mistake, since it was the only one open around there. Then I was escorted to the right place. Don 't be shy to ring the bell, even though it looks like they are closed from outside. You will not be disappointed."
