We had a great time in that place. Excellent dinner for sure. The service was really helpful and friendly, too.

It was a little too noisy but it was December and there were Christmas parties all around us! The food was excellent! I had the deer goulash which was flavoursome, rich and hearty! The kaiserschmarrn Was a delight! Very reasonable meal!

We enjoyed a casual dinner with good beer in a warm, friendly environment. Had some options available for vegetarians, which was helpful. Schnitzel was great as was the apple dessert. Able to get by without speaking much German. Would definitely recommend!

we had a nice dinner and enjoyed sitting outside and listening to the music. eating was easy, but delicious and the beer was excellent. Maybe a little way out of town, but worth the walk. it is reviews make it more contemporary than... but it is certainly worth a visit

We came here for dinner one night and very much enjoyed the Bavarian food with a twist. They elevated the local dishes by upgrading them and making them a bit more elegant. Very much enjoyed our food here.Prices are very reasonable...but service was a bit slow and we had to remind the waiter that we were waiting for our main courses. We will still be back.

this restaurant is a bit further away from the city center, but although we have a taxi there, we went back to the old town in 15 minutes, so it is really not far. what I liked was the room. the ambiente was good, because the tables had more distance, so we could hear better. it also seemed less frenetic than some of the places we ate, but was still popular. the food and service were very good and all were very friendly. they were patient with us as we discussed various animals!

Came here because of a newspaper review and was not disappointed. Traditional bavarian/alpine food, a menu that goes a lot further than Schnitzel and Schweinsbraten. They serve bavarian, alpine and tyrolese food at a very high level. I love german food and everything was excellent here. The Kaiserschmarrn for desert is probably the best in Munich, hands down.If I had to include something negative it'd be that it is a bit hard to get a table if you don't call before hand. I was lucky twice, though.

Maximilian is absolutely the most delicious typical german restaurant I’ve ever know. The atmosphere is incredible, can be noisy sometimes but it’s okay, people go there for having a good time and they feel connected with it. One of the most curious thing we can...see there is a wall filled of beer mugs. They belong to the frequent guests, who have their own key to grab them and use their own mugs for drinking beer. It’s really a special thing in there! Food is absolutely unequaled, the taste is so special! I absolutely recommend you to go!

For my daughters birthday I booked my family and grand parents for a Saturday night dinner at Wirtshaus Maximilian. I really like the neighborhood but had never been to a Bavarian restaurant in the area, and it came recommended. The service was excellent throughout the...evening! Since my parents don’t speak German, they received menus and explanation in English (which is not always the case here... . All-in-all we were treated brilliantly and never had to wait long for drinks or food. They even threw in a freebie schnaps for a few of us!
