"I have to say I was very surprised how bad my experience was with the Spice Merchant was. It started very badly with the food taking two hours to be delivered. This was after several calls over that period where we were told that the food was on its way and should be with us in five minutes. That was a bad start but the food was just as bad. The only saving grace were the starters of chicken lamb lollipops which were tasty. The main courses were all very disappointing, lacking spice and flavour. They were also swimming in oil. The breads were also flavourless. I don’t like to give reviews like this but in this case it is well deserved especially as it was extremely expensive. £150 for five people. For that kind of money it should have been allot better. Worst curry I have had I recent memory! Service: Delivery Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £30–40"

"Fantastic food. Staff lovely. Sandy took time to show us how to use chop sticks and eat our entire meal with them. A first for us. Staff were attentive but not in your face. Definitely recommend."

"Such a shame as the Food was outstanding, however we were not made to feel very welcome, the staff were quite awkward. One of us ordered a main which didn't come with any side, this should have been mentioned when placing the order and a side should have been offered, when our food arrived and this was queried and we were told that it doesn't come with a side At just gone on a Saturday night, the fire exit door was locked open, our table was in direct line with the door and we had a cold draught (it's February). This meant that we did not stay for coffee and we asked for the bill. We did mention this to the staff when we left and was told that it was opened as it gets smoky from the fire, however the fire was not even lit. For this caliber of restaurant and food, we would have expected much better service especially as this was charged at If the service would have been more friendly and accommodating then we would have had an evening to remember for the right reasons."

"It was a fantastic experience for our team. Amazing 3 course meal with lip smacking and authentic Indian taste. Extremely friendly staff and top notch service. Landlord Mr. Nandu is a gem of a person and ensured all of us had an awesome time at the restaurant. Outdoor seating area was just perfect for the weather and Ample car parking space was a huge relief. I am coming back again soon. Thank you for your hospitality Vegetarian options: All the starters, Paneer and chhole curry were delicious. Kid-friendliness: It is kids friendly and kids had a great time too"

"We are regular visitors to the Roux Brasseries at Skindles and we always receive a very warm reception. The quality of the food is always exceptional, the atmosphere is warm and friendly, and the service is exquisite. All the staff, from the manager to chefs and waiters are so friendly and efficient and we have always been made to feel very welcome. We went out to other side of the river last night and the Skindles Christmas lights really light up the river so beautiful and inviting! We stepped into the upstairs cocktails bar and I ordered a glass of Champagne Cocktail; Paolo is master with the cocktails and he made it to a perfection! My husband had his favourite Skindles hot dog with wine. All very enjoyable. We feel so fortunate to have Roux Brasseries in our neighbourhood. We cannot wait to visit you again to celebrate Christmas with our friends together."
