Didnt make reservation but still had a warm welcome. Good service. Great food. Lovely and clean and lots of space. Reasonable prices.

I stopped by with my oldest child for a quick drink and we enjoyed our time in the back beer garden. I had a Doom Bar beer and my child had a JD. The location is nice, away from the main road. I have had a great meal here before and also enjoyed the lovely bar area inside.

Lovely place. Really delicious, well sourced food. Had the wild mushroom risotto today and it was scrumptious. Everytime we come its always a good meal, friendly, reasonable and kids eat free with an adult meal. Also dog friendly so for us, all round ticking all our boxes.

Tried to eat here, woman told me I could have soup as was safe for my allergies, chef came out and said I couldn’t. Decided it wasn’t safe and she chased us to the door, swearing at my son then threw food at me. I asked why she swore at him and assaulted me with good and she got closer and closer into my face- what a dreadful woman

I ordered a Sunday roast and was disappointed to find that the potatoes were undercooked, the vegetables were overcooked and bland, and the meat was lackluster. It seemed as though everything had been reheated from frozen. When I raised my concerns with the staff, they showed no interest in addressing the issue. I do not plan on returning to this restaurant.

Every year, except during the Covid lockdown, my 90-year-old mother, aunt, friend, and I have dined at this amazing restaurant every day of our vacation. My mother has gallstones and diabetes, so her diet is carefully controlled. The staff were incredibly accommodating and went above and beyond to cater to her needs. Gary, the chef, is outstanding and all of his dishes are absolutely delicious. He even modified the menu to suit my mother's needs. Thank you, Gary, for taking such good care of us. The White Lion is a very smartly decorated public house, the decor very tasteful. The staff were especially friendly and helpful. The food served was great, I visited on a curry night which I really enjoyed. You received a warm empty plate and you went to a table containing two massive tureens containing three different curries and boiled rice. You filled your plate and you can go back as many times as you like for £12.95. There was a normal menu available in case something different was required. The toilets were really clean and well maintained. All in all a really good experience.

Absolutely loved my meal I had the Waguy beef burger from the specials board. Went there with my wife and kids, they have a kids eat free policy which means 1 paying adult gets 1 free kids meal from their set kids menu. Didn't book a table before going but was lucky enough to get seated for 5, we did get told that it would be about a 30 min wait for food once ordered which I didn't think was to bad anyways. The food did in fact take around 30 minutes from being ordered, and it was absolutely fine and worth the wait. Good pub type food served there. They were very welcoming and friendly; and also very accommodating in our food requests, as we adapted our menu choices slightly. The thing they excel in here though are the desserts. These are restaurant quality desserts and worth every penny in my opinion. Lavasa Coffees (including ones such as latte and cappachino) are also available here. They have made the decor look lovely in the section we sat in. It had a purple, white and silver theme with a slightly modern twist to it, which is unusual for a pub; but it was a very welcome change from the usual tired old grotty looks of other pub interiors I've seen elsewhere! I do hope they will consider to decorate...
