Hidden Gem in Frieburg, located almost on the hill, accessible by car to drive all the way from the city centre. The service and food are just right, location and view is amazing. We enjoyed our day with 2 children

I absolutely love the place. As a local I am lucky enough to be able to go there whenever I want! ;)The food is delicious, the service is perfect. The location? Hidden in the forest. Quiet and relaxing...perfect for a nice quiet and romantic evening!

Just above Günterstal this is a nice place to have diner or lunch or whatever. We were there in the late afternoon. Service was friendly and fast. Food was really good and tasty. Prices for food and drinks were moderate, considering the quality I would even say low.

as an old freiburger but resding in the Uk since thew mod 70s i always visit this joint when i return....superb food.....great setti9ng particularly in the summer...we walk there from the city centre hotel.....a good hour and you will be ready fore the great schnitzel..super salads and savpury pancakes....go get it !

If you are not local.. you will never find it, but that's not always bad!A very nice restaurant in the middle of nowhere in Black Forest. You can find a huge variety of local diches and drinks. Home made pasta, fresh salads, low prices and gentle people are some good reasons for have a dinner there!!! The place is wonderful and the restaurant too.

I have been here many times before and every time I love it. Hidden in the forest of Günterstal valley, but accessible through a forest road and a short walk up a hill, this place is just perfect for a romtic dinner or a lunch break after a nice day or walk in the sorrounding forest.The service is really good and friendly, the food is very good and the prices are still reasonable. We always enjoy coming back...

Warm and nice family friendly place, ordered spätzle which happened to be really (really) salty (were just mine, coz my friend ones were fine), mentioned it to the owner who was as sorry as my spätzle were salty (he was really really sorry), apologized many times, asked me if I wanted a schnapps or an espresso (had to drive and was planning to sleep early so declined both), when the bill came, we didn't pay for that dish... Not many restaurants would go to that extend :)

When we went it was nice enough to sit outside. I have actually gone twice now and I love 3 hours away. My family and myself really enjoyed the food and service. The cook actually put something special together for my sister because she just couldn't find something on the menu that she was interested in. So they said just tell them what she wants and they made it. I can't express enough how much I we loved the food. I have been in Germany for a year. I have eaten at MANY places and I think this restaurant is by far the best. It is hard to find but definitely worth the trip and adventure.

During a family visit in the area, we came across this little restaurant, very much hidden away from the town centre, in the forest above Güntherstal. It is indeed a secret spot as you would never find it, if you didn't know about it! I went there with 8 people yesterday and I was so impressed with this place! The outside area is beautiful and the surrounding is super quiet and fabulous for anyone who likes being out in the nature. The service was superb. They are not trying to save money with waiting staff as there were three waiters responsible for the outside area. They were very friendly and efficient. Within a maximum of 5 minutes we all were served our drinks and the food also came out...
