"Disappointing went here on aThursday to catch up with some old friends . As it was very warm two of us ordered prawn salad and my friend had a small pizza. The sweet chilli prawn salads arrived in a small dish packet iceberg lettuce , chopped tomato and cucumber and 4 prawns! It was barely the size of a starter and for £12 was a joke. Anyway as I was clearly not served a main course I had a dessert of cheesecake , my friends profiteroles and ice cream. £8 and £5 respectively . My cheesecake appeared to be some kind of stodgy bought in gateaux but the others looked ok however for £8 would expect real cream not squirty we are not in 1980. Anyway £76 for 3 including service . Paid the service as we didn’t want to make a fuss as the waitress was a young girl .We didn’t really have great service no one came at any point to check if everything was ok if they had then the above would have been mentioned . Paid and left hungry will not be returning I feel had over to say the least."

Excellent pasta and risotto mains, ice cream and soft drinks. Pleasant surroundings, good service. Would recommend.

This pizza place was the best I’ve ever been too, I called up vladis asking for their signature 26 inch pizza and it was dreamy, I would 100% recommend vladis 26 inch meat … pizza to everyone in the area.

Honestly wish we had just bought fish and chips on the beach. Food was below average and shocked to find we had been charged £1 for a tiny pot of ketchup. We did find the fact they try and charge £65 for a 26 inch pizza amusing. Save your money and don't visit this restaurant.

We love Vladis! We always enjoy the food, the service, the atmosphere, and how they cater for vegan and gluten free diets. Had an enormous burger and a tasty pizza one night, and a prawn salad and a pizza another. For us it's the ideal place for a meal after a day on the beach or exploring.

We had a wonderful meal here, everything was cooked and made fresh. We had the hot and spicy chicken wing and I had the penne with king prawns which was the perfect amount of pasta and prawns. My husband had the hosin duck stuffed crust pizza, his words were it the best pizza he has every tasted. We are had a side of onion rings which were delicious. The restaurant was clean and service was excellent

17.40 on a Wednesday night, just walked in and the place was empty, asked the waitress if we could sit anywhere? She said NO! You must have a table for 2 (there were 2 of us) however there was NOBODY else in. I asked please can we have a bigger table? NO! Only a table for 2 so we left and took our money elsewhere. Will never return here and there’s a group of 8 of us looking for a restaurant for next week!

We dined al fresco at this restaurant and the staff were exceptional. They made us feel welcome and even gave our dogs a treat and water. The food was delicious, although we were a bit confused when the bill was higher than expected due to a menu change that we were not informed about. Despite this, we left a tip as we were pleased with the service. However, upon returning to our accommodation, we discovered that a 10% service charge had already been added to the bill without our knowledge.

Best pizza we have had for ages and we eat italian style food a lot. Really friendly staff, an amazingly long list of choices both toppings and size. Food was delicious, hot and came quickly. We went twice during our short stay. the second time we had smaller pizzas to allow for dessert. We cannot comment on the other styles of food but for pizza this place is really good. Our only disappointment was the automatic addition of a service charge to the bill we would prefer to make the decision on this ourselves. We did not query this as we were happy to tip but hope that if we had queried it we would have been able to vary the amount.

My boyfriend and I ordered from here because we wanted a treat. Well let me tell you I will never order from here again. We didn’t feel like cooking so decided on take away. By the time we got the food it was cold, nothing was warm, despite us just having picked up the delivery. Who wants cold food? We took this up on the just eat app. The meal cost £56 pounds so of course we expect good quality. Not long after complaining on the app. The restaurant called us, and proceeded to shout at us down the phone saying it was down to us food was cold, continued to become aggressive and then hung up. This is terrible customer service, I am appalled to say the least. I will be telling anyone I know to...

The George Inn

The George Inn

"Yet again we needed to celebrate having resolved a long standing technical problem. The pub in Brompton Regis came up in discussion the evening before when our neighbour was around for a glass of wine. He said that before coming to our village he’d looked at houses in Brompton Regis. He left and we booked a table. Friday was a damp day but we were not deterred as we drove up into the Brendon Hills, usually distant views greet one but this day the clouds were dominant. However as we descended from Roborough Gate towards Wimbleball Lake we could turn off the wipers. By the time we crossed the bridge at the top of the lake a shaft of sun broke through and sparkled across the surface of the water whilst light wisps of mist kissed the shore line. Rounding the churchyard wall always raises our expectations for there is the George Inn. The bar door was hardly open before Tash, a beaming smile, greeted us with a price board for ‘COFFEE’. I said in my previous review that I wouldn’t mention coffee at the George again, sorry, but I must. The coffee machine had arrived the day before. Well done Tripadvisor the George! We had a wonderful starter of Baba Ganoush, new to the menu that day. It was exceptionally good with delicate flavour. Following on was chicken breast and pasta with tomato sauce, again great flavour though my wife found it a little too greasy. My Bengal curry was fantastic and a most generous serving. Our ‘Desert,’sic, was Chocolate Ganache with pistachio ice cream under crunched nuts. I had the steamed maple syrup pudding set in a delicious whisky sauce, a very delicate and light texture, just right to finish on after the curry! Of course we had our long awaited espressos from the new device, a delicious finale to our meal. Earlier in walkers had dropped in wanting a coffee. Now all on Exmoor should be heading to the George for their ‘hit’."
