"I would like to sing nothing but praises for the hotel. It offers one of the best views of Lake Geneva. The beautifully preserved historic interior is stunning. The garden, bar, restaurant, and pool all seem like something out of a novel. The rooms are comfortable, with every detail thoughtfully considered. Pillows, linens, mattresses, water pressure, etc., are all perfect. The location is away from the noise of Montreux, yet it provides easy access to any part of the Riviera. The hotel also has its own parking. However, there are three aspects that made my stay (four nights) very uncomfortable: 1. Almost complete lack of internet throughout the hotel, not just in the rooms. 2. Smoking is allowed in the hotel. The balconies are designed in such a way that one smoker can affect all the neighboring rooms. Without air conditioning, the open windows let the smoke into all adjacent rooms. 3. The service in the restaurant was strangely haughty, pretentious, and extremely inefficient. A dozen waiters scurried around the restaurant, yet there was dirt on the tables, forgotten orders, no one to take orders from the tables, and poor replenishment of the already rather shameful breakfast buffet. The hotel is a bit away from Montreux city center, but not a problem even if you don't have a car because it is easily reachable via the train or the funicular.
