"The Thornhill Inn would appear to be a side business for the adjoining restaurant. Situated in the centre of the very attractive village of Thornhill it is no doubt a fine place drink or dine. When we visited on a Monday evening however the signs on the restaurant door advised that they were closed for the first few days of the week, and the locked doors of the pub suggest that the same applies there. Indeed, we were advised later by the landlord at the nearby (and excellent) Farmer’s Arms that the Thornhill Inn only opens for two or three days a week. So if you come when it’s closed, and you only want a drink, I highly recommend a short stroll along the road to the Farmer’s, which is a fine example of a traditional Scottish pub that stays open."

I had another wonderful dinner at this restaurant. They have a wide menu that caters to both vegetarians and meat-eaters. This is my favorite place to eat in Thornhill. The food is delicious and John is a talented chef. The prices are very reasonable. The service and location are both top-notch. This restaurant is a great value for the quality of food and service provided.
