"Theo is conveniently located near the Porta Nigra and has a great view of the gate. The restaurant is cozy and warm with a friendly staff. Some of them speak very good English and there are English menu's available, so travelers don't need to flex their Deutsch. The food and general fare were good: my son destroyed the chicken wings, my wife loved the Kartoffel-Brokkoli-Auflauf (Potato & broccoli au-gratin) and my daughter loved the baked potato. The curry-wurst was meh... on the plus side is that hefeweizen goes with everything."

Good lunch with very friendly service. I had a salmon gravlax with crispy potatoes which was perfect for lunch. The prices are reasonable and our waitress spoke English and was very sweet. Ask for the English menu if you need one.

We were on a tour of the city of Trier and it was cold a drizzling. To get warm and wait for the bus we went into the coffee house, Theo. WOW! We had two American coffees with Amaretto with heavy whipped cream. IT WAS WONERFUL! It was delicious and warmed us inside and out.
