"I visited with my cousin for a catch-up and birthday cream tea, and ended up staying most of the day. Food was excellent, as always (started with a celebration afternoon tea each, later in the day had snacks, and had a milkshake and a few extra drinks besides). The staff were lovely, and were happy to let us move halfway through because the rain had stopped and I love being outside. We have visited a few times for the celebration afternoon teas and are never disappointed."

Loved this little tea shop… What’s even better, is that I discovered possibly the BEST SCONE in all of the UK. The staff were kind and friendly you won’t be disappointed. After a little stroll, pop in for an unforgettable , delicious cream tea!

I am so fussy with breakfast out but I think this was the best breakfast out I’ve ever had. Staff were so lovely and friendly and despite being in a tourist trap town it wasn’t badly priced at all. All breakfasts should come with double potatoes.

Fantastic dog friendly cafe, had the best bacon sandwich, beautiful soft hand cut granary bread with quality bacon and a traditional cup of leaf tea. Staff are really friendly and what a little gem of a cafe. Ask for a caramel shake with an espresso shot, delicious.

This is a charming spot for lunch in Cheddar. The atmosphere is cozy and the decor is delightful. Our family of four (2 adults and 2 children) received attentive service, and the menu offered a great variety of choices. The food was fresh and delicious. We would definitely return for another visit.

We came for afternoon tea on the 27th September and it did not disappoint. Every aspect was amazing and so delicious. The lady who served us was in training for that day and she did so well despite all our dietary requirements and fussiness. Best customer service and best afternoon tea. A lovely place in such a beautiful area.

We read about Lion Rock Tea Rooms and decided to have lunch here during our visit to Cheddar. We ordered scones, pies, cakes, tea and hot chocolate, and were seated upstairs in what is called the pink room. We were lucky to have a table beside a window so we could see the street below. Food was good and we enjoyed the scones. We would recommend you to stop by this tea room should you visit Cheddar.

I tried the cream tea at this restaurant and was pleasantly surprised. The scone was nice and warm, although on the smaller side which was perfect if you don't want to be overwhelmed. They gave a generous amount of clotted cream and jam, and it was all beautifully presented on fine china. My husband had the Victoria sponge and really enjoyed it. The interior had a traditional feel to it. Overall, a good experience.

My second visit to the tea rooms and I absolutely love it. The atmosphere is cozy and the staff is attentive and careful with orders. As a vegan and gluten-free diner, I feel confident that my order will be correct and the menu caters well to both dietary restrictions. The cooked breakfast we had was delicious and we couldn't resist taking some cake home with us. In the summer, there is a lovely garden to enjoy as well. I highly recommend this place.

"Been wanting to try this ‘alternative’ pub for a while. Large car park with plenty of space, no steps or slopes into the bar. Access for buggies, wheelchairs etc should be okay, my mother walks with the aid of a frame and has no issues. Inside the decor is certainly alternative but in a great way, loved it! Plenty to look at, keep you entertained and talk about as you wait for your food or just pass the time. Staff were friendly and welcoming, there was just one guy running the bar, taking food orders and bringing food out; I thought he needed a helper or coworker really. There is a decent bar area with seating or there is more ‘restaurant’ style seating further back beyond the bar. We chose to sit in the bar area seating which is a mixture of booth and chairs. Dogs are allowed in which is great, there is free Wi-Fi which is good as my mobile signal was very poor. The menu is standard pub food, quite a bit of choice and plenty of options for gluten free. I chose to have the fillet steak cooked medium, I had a starter of garlic bread but chose for it all to come out together. Mother had beef brisket loaded fries, the portion was massive so I had to help her finish it. The steak was perfectly cooked, I chose to have the peppercorn sauce; this was a bit watery and bland. The steak comes with chunky chips, peas, mushrooms, tomatoes and onion rings. For dessert I had the nutty apple crumble with ice cream, it was okay. Overall this is a great venue with acceptable food, friendly staff and awesome decor that will keep you talking and looking all night. Based on this experience I would visit again."
