"Been wanting to try this ‘alternative’ pub for a while. Large car park with plenty of space, no steps or slopes into the bar. Access for buggies, wheelchairs etc should be okay, my mother walks with the aid of a frame and has no issues. Inside the decor is certainly alternative but in a great way, loved it! Plenty to look at, keep you entertained and talk about as you wait for your food or just pass the time. Staff were friendly and welcoming, there was just one guy running the bar, taking food orders and bringing food out; I thought he needed a helper or coworker really. There is a decent bar area with seating or there is more ‘restaurant’ style seating further back beyond the bar. We chose to sit in the bar area seating which is a mixture of booth and chairs. Dogs are allowed in which is great, there is free Wi-Fi which is good as my mobile signal was very poor. The menu is standard pub food, quite a bit of choice and plenty of options for gluten free. I chose to have the fillet steak cooked medium, I had a starter of garlic bread but chose for it all to come out together. Mother had beef brisket loaded fries, the portion was massive so I had to help her finish it. The steak was perfectly cooked, I chose to have the peppercorn sauce; this was a bit watery and bland. The steak comes with chunky chips, peas, mushrooms, tomatoes and onion rings. For dessert I had the nutty apple crumble with ice cream, it was okay. Overall this is a great venue with acceptable food, friendly staff and awesome decor that will keep you talking and looking all night. Based on this experience I would visit again."

If you like this place you have to question your taste. Honestly what have they done too this lovely old pub. Had a pie, would rather eat a delicious cream pie.

This restaurant is truly special. The ambiance is delightful and will surely put a smile on your face! The Sunday Roast was exceptional and the service was excellent. I highly recommend paying a visit.

I appreciate the extended opening hours of this restaurant, as many other pubs and cafes in the area have very limited hours. While I do like the decor, I feel that they are charging restaurant prices for pub service. Overall, it is still a nice venue to visit.

We were not greeted, acknowledged or given a menu. We had a drink and decided to leave as did not feel welcome. We have been a couple of times before, we thought we would give them the benefit of the doubt but they were as rude as ever. Food was ok when we have eaten there but a tad pricey. We will not be returning. Voir le carte

Visited 17/9/22. What a hidden gem with an unusual decor throughout. What a great garden catering for all weathers ,with blankets and hot water bottles if needed . Had to say hello to tiki the grey African parrot, took a while but he did eventually say hello . The staff were so so helpful and the food was excellent can’t wait to come again

This was my first time having a meal here. Usually, we go to the Crown in Catcott because we are local, but they had no electricity. The food was okay, but not quite what I expected - just average. The drinks were nice but a bit expensive. I will probably visit again in the summer when we can sit in the garden. However, I will still stick with the Crown for food because you can't beat it.

One of the nicer places I have visited in my time come here with some friends of ours and we had a really nice meal. The staff were very nice and friendly and the atmosphere was great. The food was of excellent quality and you couldn't fault it. The drinks were a bit over priced then most pubs and restaurants in the area and the limited dessert menu was a bit of a let down but other than that you can't fault the place as a whole. I am sure we will return soon for another nice meal in the wacky decorated place. Voir le carte

Stopped at a nearby B B for the night and was looking for somewhere to eat. A few suggestions were offered, including the Leather Lace mention being made that some locals were being deliberately awkward because it was too 'modern ' or different. As a non local and not awkward, we decided to try it out. Well, quirky decor added a lovely touch and a friendly ambience brought it together. Being a Friday night it was busy, however a table for 2 was managed for us with a smile and without undue delay. We had a great meal and nejoyed our evening immensely.

I rang to book a table for 4 people for today, Sunday. So on previous experience I was REALLY looking forward to a Sunday roast. Had been there twice before and it was really good. Got there. Carpark had a few cars, walked in said we had a table booked and got some drinks. Alarm bells went off when the barmaid picked up some preprinted menus. We went over and sat down and I then asked where were the Roast on the lists stopped doing them 2 weeks ago. We have pies I was told!!! No one told me when I booked so I was a bit miffed to say the least. We had our drinks and went to the King William for a traditional Sunday roast. Wont be going back!!!

"Went here for the Sunday carvery which at £10 is one of the cheapest I know in the area. Large car park with a few pot holes easily avoided; it is a short walk back to the pub so I dropped my disabled mother off right outside then went to park. There are a couple of outdoor seating areas available, a swing and a trampoline for kids should the weather suit. A smoking bin is provided outside by the door for anyone needing it. Inside the pub is in the style of a traditional English country pub, extensive seating flows away to the left of the entrance with a smaller bar area on the right; leading through to what looks like a function room with large screen on the wall. I also noticed a poker table folded away so I’m guessing there are or have been some games evenings at some stage. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, greeted with a smile and an immediate offer of a drink. It wasn’t long before we were invited up to the carvery to get our food; our table being situated in the first part of the seating area to the left of the entrance by a log fire sadly not lit but it wasn’t that cold. There was a decent selection on the carvery with meat options including Turkey and beef or a nut roast. They also cater for gluten free which is great! The food itself on the carvery wasn’t too good, I found the parsnips hard, the roast potatoes were okay a little tough and the Turkey was a bit dry. The gravy, veg and pigs in blankets were lovely though. For dessert I had the apple crumble with pouring cream, it was okay, a little tasteless and could have done with some sugar I guess for taste. The coffee after was very good. There is free Wi-Fi available with no password required just select the BT guest option, agree to their terms and conditions and you’re in. The pub is also dog friendly which is great! Based on this experience I wouldn’t come back for the carvery but I would like to try the normal menu on another day. The pub and staff overall are great."
