The White Hart, Tongham Public House

The food was not good, the service was lacking, and there were problems with parking. The owner showed indifference and did not treat customers respectfully. I would not recommend going to this restaurant.

We visited here today with our family. Can not fault a thing. Staff are so friendly, nice country pub atmosphere and the food is fantastic! All home made by the talented chef. Roast dinners good in size and lasagna is to die for. Highly recommend to anyone in the area.

Booked this place for Sunday lunch as we were in the area for another reason. Chicken was dry and inedible, and had been diced and recooked. Beef was not much better. Vegetables were OK. Place was very quite, and although we booked, we were the only diners at lunchtime. Voir le carte

Slow to serve our group of people just for drinks The food although very hot and good portions came out very disjointed . The staff were nice enough but were trying to do too much and making simple mistakes. Wrong drinks not able to get meal of you choice as they had run out.

Nice local pub, friendly landlord and staff.. We had the Thai Curry and rice, it was excellent ,there was so much we could not eat it all. The best Thai Curry I have ever had, it is made from scratch by Thai lady. They also have live music at the pub on Saturday nights. Would visit again if in the area.

Nice surroundings, friendly staff, varied menu. I ordered the Liver, which was overcooked, the mash was a little dry and needed butter, cream and seasoning. I was asked how the food was, and when I answered, it was taken as a constructive criticism. The manager did say she would inform the kitchen of my comments, and i am hoping next time i go, things will be a little different. It did not put me off wanting to return. Voir le carte

Visited Friday evening as staying nearby at Hogsback Hotel.Felt sorry for the landlord as only a few people came in whilst we were there just for a drink.The spring rolls as starters were freshly made and so hot and tasty.The chicken, leek pies were delicious as was the gammon.Next time would definitely try the Thai curry as the lady cooking was very good.Good value for money just needs more people to visit to keep it open.

The pub has an inviting atmosphere with an open fire. They serve beer from a local brewery called Hogs Back, with a few other options like Kronenbourg, Fosters, and Guinness. The food is a bit expensive and could use larger portions, especially in terms of the roast potatoes. The pub hosts nightly events, including a Meat Raffle with generous prizes. Overall, it's worth a visit, especially for the chance to participate in the raffle.

We went to this restaurant tonight after a day of exploring the area. As soon as we arrived, we were greeted warmly and the service throughout our meal was outstanding - attentive, polite, and genuine. The menu offered typical pub food at affordable prices. We had starters and main courses, and I felt like I was going to burst from eating so much delicious food! The dishes were excellent, especially the chicken and leek pie which had a deliciously hearty filling with plenty of meat. Overall, we had a great experience with fantastic service, tasty food, a lovely atmosphere, and affordable prices. It was everything we could have asked for. Voir le carte
