"We have often passed this pub/restaurant and it looked so inviting, so decided to meet up with some friends on the Queen's Bank Holiday Thursday. It really is a lovely place with lots of parking, outdoor and indoor seating. A magnificent tree gives ample shade for sunny days. The bar staff are excellent, really welcoming and friendly. Great selection of ales beers bitter etc. Nice menu. We were told to expect a 45 minute wait for food as it was a busy bank holiday. The food came just over an hour from ordering. The steak burger was a nice home made one and was accompanied with chips and a pot of sauce. It was a little overcooked and quite dry. For £15.95 I thought it was overpriced, especially as there was no side salad. My friend's liver pâté was returned as it did not appear fresh."

This lovely pub offers incredibly tasty food, delicious coffee, friendly staff, and is dog-friendly! Highly recommended as a stop when visiting the New Forest. I suggest trying their chicken burger, it was amazing!

What a gem! This lovely pub is located near Lyndhurst, just two minutes away from the motorway. The chicken ham and rag cake were delicious. The pub also has a large garden, playground, and plenty of parking. And the brownie dessert was amazing. We will definitely be returning!

Lovely Sunday lunch, generous portions and beautifully cooked meats on the roast. Love the idea of the mini pudding and coffee. A top quality pub with great decor and very kind staff. We were served by Tracey who was a delight, friendly and very efficient thank you for a lovely time.

Lovely place to eat, the staff were very efficient, friendly and helpful. The food is excellent. The surroundings are clean and comfortable, parking is easy. It's a good stop off point, easy to get to from the A31 main road just 2 minutes away. All together a lovely old English traditional pub, well worth a visit

I was pleasantly surprised by how busy the restaurant was for a Thursday lunchtime, with the car park full. I would recommend booking in advance. We had to wait 40 minutes for our food because it was so busy, but we were informed ahead of time. The fish pie was delicious and hot, and the side vegetables were good with a unique addition of onions. I would definitely return. Ratings: Food 4, Service 5, Atmosphere 4.

We absolutely loved our experience at this restaurant. We were originally planning to have brunch in Lyndhurst after spending a few days in Bournemouth, but due to heavy traffic, we decided to keep driving and stumbled upon this delightful place. We ordered starters and mains, and they were truly amazing. The food and service were impeccable, though we did have to wait a bit between courses. There was also a lovely playground where our youngest daughter spent most of her time. We highly recommend this restaurant - we had a fantastic meal!

"In the approach to Christmas, at the time of goodwill to all men, I feel hesitant writing this review. We 've had meals at The Bell before, probably on three occasions, and they have been fine with good service. This time we met friends here and had driven a long way through driving rain and were hungry! The restaurant was full, and so was the waiting area. I think the other half of the room was being used for a meeting or conference maybe, so perhaps the restaurant floor area where we normally sit was reduced. We were greeted reasonably and shown to our table and sat down, We were presented with the Festive menu. We preferred to order from the main menu. After about 15 minutes, we had to ask for these from behind the bar. Our drinks came pretty quickly our waitress was courteous and friendly, and our food order was taken. After over an hour, and noting that other tables who arrived well after we did were served before us, we enquired as to whether we had been forgotten. We had to go and find someone to ask. After 20 minutes more, our food did arrive. The bream, liver and fish and chips were OK. But I don 't think the chef knows how to cook the basics, unless a work experience person or the like was given responsibility. Mashed potato was cold and getting solid. Saute potatoes were few and far between, overcooked, small and cold. The salad was a dozen olives thrown onto a couple of lettuce leaves. The waitress offered to have the mash replaced, but we didn 't have another hour to spare. The waitress was full of apologies, but said she had asked about the delay from the kitchen. The food isn 't cheap here, so quality ought to have been reasonabe, not partly sub standard or unenjoyable. We apologised to our friends for recommending this venue. Although the bill was adjusted, we 'll probably try somewhere else next time. Shame, because we love the area and the decor."
