"We came across the Wheatsheaf after a quick Google Maps search for a place to eat and we felt very pleased with ourselves with such a lucky find. The pub itself is wonderfully olde worlde with an open fire and dark wooden beams. For lunch, there was a great selection of larger meals (around the £14 £17 mark) but we opted for 'light lunches ' (around the £7.50 £9 mark) which were extremely filling, delicious and the chips were exceptional I rarely say that about chips!"

I think this is the 1st full 5 star review I've made. My favourite pug in England. Stunning garden in a very peaceful village. The food is great well priced, the service is fast and everyone at the pub is friendly. Parking: Maybe 5-7 spaces and a few more on the road. Although it's normally a quiet pub. Wow! The most unwelcoming, unfriendly pub on the planet! Walked on Christmas Day, called in and asked for a quick drink to revive us from a long walk in the rain ….. and told ……NO! They refused to let us buy a drink. In a pub. On Christmas Day! All the staff wore an expression like a slapped backside. Absolutely vile. The whole place looked like your grandmas front room and smelt of cabbage so probably just as well.
