"Came to this place as the Google reviews was great, but don't be fooled, the fish I received was very soggy and oily and so was my girlfriends sausage and batter! You would expect it to have some sort of crunch! The chips was okish and they use cheap tartar sauce packets. Overall we won't be coming back. My suggestion is go to the CodFather in Abergavenny, much better local fish bar :"

I visited Gilwern on Friday and stopped by this delightful fish and chip shop. The two women working there were very friendly and the food I ordered was delicious. I especially enjoyed the cheese rissoles.

I was not disappointed by the fish and chips at this restaurant. It is noteworthy considering I come from Lincolnshire, where we have access to fresh fish from Grimsby and locally grown carrots. The portions were generous, albeit a bit pricey for the quality. However, the staff was friendly and accommodating, making for an overall pleasant dining experience.
