"absolutely brilliant. really delicious eating, perfectly cooked in really nice environment. many spaceloads of tables, but nevertheless it somehow manages to preserve the warm inviting environment of a village pubs. it was really busy when we visited, but we were still served in good time. service was perfect. time and attention, always seemed to know when we wanted more drinks. it wasn't cheap, but if you were looking for a cheap two for one, you won't get any food from this quality. recommend the brantingham burger. does not know what is in this special sauce, but it is **** tasty! in contrast to previous management, children are welcome, there is a good children's menu and lots of free space outside with a play area. if I had to choose something I wasn't interested, the dogs would be in the restaurant. especially when they started barking. but then I assume to be dogs friendly, is a good selling point for many people and they are as irritating as my loud children are "

Went here as a group of 5 adults and 1 toddler. Food was average for the price and I didn 't like the 10% optional service charge being added to the bill which I did ask to be removed.

We are so glad a friend recommended this palace. Short drive, amazing food and excellent service. Will definitely be our new local eatery. Well done to all the people that make it a gem to visit

Found this lovely Inn just off the A63 just west of Hull near Brough. It was a warm sunny evening we sat outside in the sun. The menu has a good choice of meals several cask ales. The food was good quality presented well, above usual pub food standard. Highly recommended if you are in the area.

Eleven of our family dined at The Triton Inn. The children loved the play area. The meals all arrived at the same time. The food was exceptional and the staff very attentive. A special mention to Claire who ensured everything went well and was super friendly. We will definitely be back. Thank you

Excellent tasty food and friendly, helpful staff. It was “Pie Night” and we hadn’t realised when we ordered our drinks that if a pie was ordered a pint (coca cola in our case) was included in the price. As my husband had ordered a half for me the staff informed us that my next one would be free. They didn’t have to let us know but did so without prompting. Will definitely be returning.

Went for lunch with friends, The experience was marked by the absolutely disgusting practise of the management seemingly being happy to allow dogs to sit on the furniture whilst other diners are eating lunch. Whilst I don’t have a problem with dogs I do have a problem with them sitting on seats that humans sit on, when going out for lunch I tend to wear nice clothes and don’t expect to sit on seats where animals have been, it's unhygienic, dogs have worms, fleas and dirty bottoms! When we brought this issue to the attention of the waitress she seems disinterested and weakly said “ I know what you mean”! No apology, no hint of taking on board what to me is an obvious hygiene issue. Also the m...

"Visited today with my wife and month old daughter whilst we are on holiday in the area. We didn’t have a booking but this wasn’t a problem, the staff were friendly throughout and accommodating about lack of booking. We asked for a children’s menu...(website says they have one) but we were advised it’s was the basket meals menu which they advertise as selling to guests sat outside, they did also mention they could make a smaller portion of something from the adult menu. The basket meals menu is mainly fried food and chips, the kind you might share with friends over drinks, I wouldn’t call it a children’s menu. To me a children’s meal should at least come with some option of veg/salad/beans and ideally not be fried, plus the chips that arrived with her chicken bites were salted, not great for little ones. We didn’t make a fuss as for one meal as a treat we weren’t unduly worried but it would put me off going back with children. They also charged the full basket meal price so no reduction for children. Our meals, fried garlic mushrooms, salt and pepper chicken goujons to start then a beef burger and chicken burger as mains, arrived promptly and were generous portions. The food was fine, nothing spectacular just average pub food. The main issue on our visit and the thing that made the whole meal much more stressful and unenjoyable was the flies, we were sat in what they called the restaurant area and our whole meal start to finish was disrupted by or flies continuously buzzing round us, trying to land on our food and land on us, not fun. I accept that or flies can be around when doors or windows are open and it’s hard to stop them coming when food is around but or round us and more to be seen in the room seems too many to me, it really put us off especially when they were landing on our daughter. At the point of eating the meal we didn’t raise the issue as we couldn’t see that anything could be done about it and I’m sure the staff are not a fan of the flies either. I did raise the issue whilst paying and was told they knew about the problem and were doing their best to solve it, sadly for us it would stop me wanting to go again. All in all not a great experience and the food whilst nice enough wasn’t good enough to overcome the issue of the flies and the lack of a proper children’s menu."
