"Nice busy atmosphere on a Thursday night, lovely menu with lots of choice. I ordered the hake, for an £18 main course I expected a little more food, the fish was tiny without a crispy skin. I then had the Mars bar slice which was...incredibly disappointing, just a goop of stale rice crispys with some Melted icecream. The wine was nice but again £8.50 for a small glass is a lot considering it’s a countryside pub. One of the waitresses was a little rude commenting on how fast my friend ate her dessert and generally being a little over the top. All in all an average meal."

What can I say? We’ve had the best birthday evening thanks to this classy quirky pub. So unique. Welcoming and friendly staff. Food delicious. Highly recommend!

Really enjoyed our first visit. It won’t be our last. Found it on Trip Advisor (thank you and lived up to its high rating. Plenty of good food and drink to choose from. Despite being busy, the service was efficient and friendly. Glad we found...it.

I fell on this amazing pub when I saw half a point to meet some friends for Sunday dinner. we are back a few times in winter and summer and it is always fabulous. the service is great, which is eating...expandable and it is nicely furnished inside and outside. if I lived closer, I think we would be there all the time

Visited Trigger Pond today to meet a friend for Sunday lunch. Loved the decor modern cozy cottage feel with pretty flowers and fairy lights and a lovely fire. All the staff were really friendly and attentive and we had excellent service. Our roast chicken...lunch was very tasty and the mars bar slice was delicious! We really enjoyed our visit and will return. Voir le carte

The three of us me, wife, and son) enjoyed a terrific Sunday lunch on our first visit to this pub. Friendly, bubbly service means the atmosphere in the pub grabs you when you walk in. Excellent food was briskly served. If more pubs operated...like this then there wouldn't be such a crisis in the catering trade. Really impressive and we will definitely be back.

A very extensive menu but at a cost. Everything was very expensive from drinks through to the ice cream. £5 for a gin £2.10 for tonic!! Beefburger £16.50 Ice cream (1 scoop) £6.50 WOW The food was nothing exceptional either, it was sort of...OK but not great. On top of that a 12.5% service charge was added to the bill. Service charges should not be compulsory but should be left for the customer to decide what to offer. A pity because it is a great place but am afraid we will never be coming back

"I don't know what on earth happened last night when we had dinner here, the reviews looked good, and we're struggling to understand how. We're very easily pleased and takes a lot to prompt a complaint, but we had an absolutely awful experience. My partner ordered the belly pork off the specials board, and it turned up on a side plate, a very few overcooked bits of diced pork thrown in with a few veg. I had the cauliflower with braised lentils, this turned out to be a few mainly burnt cauliflower florets thrown into a plate of sludgy lentils. The chunky chips we ordered came out as skinny fries, not a big deal but just added to the general lack of care. We were both mortified, to the point of embarrassment. We ate it as we were hungry and there was nowhere else to go as we were staying at a local campsite. One of the team took the plates away, and another brought the bill. Neither of them asked us how the meal was, else we'd have said how disappointed we were. So we just left, just as the table next to ours was commenting on the small portion sizes of their food. We should have complained but we were hungry, disappointed, tired and just wanted to leave and simply couldn't face the confrontation in the busy setting. No excuses but that's how it was. We are very relaxed easy going people but this was a truly disappointing meal and experience and we felt robbed of £45 instead of enjoying what we'd hoped would be a lovely Saturday night out and special occasion."
