Lovely food. Proper fish finger sarnies, proper batter and chicken in kids chicken goujons and thick slices of meat in doorstop fresh bread, served with real home cooked chips.

We had a fantastic meal for my Mum's birthday on Saturday lunchtime, the food arrived quickly, was of great quality the staff of Helen, Lee Ellie were very efficient! All in all a superb meal!

I can recommend the 3 horse shoes. the accommodation is a very high standard, great atmosphere in the bar and great eating (noon, evening meal and breakfast) and great service! many thanks to all employees! Voir le carte

This is a gem of a place!!! Fantastic real ale, and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful! Food good!! Lovely enclosed beer terrace and tables on the roadside for the nosey people! Will come again!!!

we were here for two nights and the breakfast was amazing. the pancakes should die for, especially thanks to the cook. could not be more helpful and courteous highly recommended if they are looking to stay somewhere in barnard castle

clean, great beer, good eating, friendly and efficient staff, we will be back! one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in, and as a tour musician I have stayed a lot, the breakfast is beautiful, which has been a very pleasant stay! I recommend to stay this beautiful place

we visit barnard castle often, but were never here and so after a nice walk along the river to egglestone and back we dived here. we sat outside in the backyard and both had one of their salads. my grilled halloumi with avocado and granatapfelkern was really delicious. goes back in definitiw.

we stayed on Saturday night in barnard castle and had a very pleasant room in the stables a 3 minutes to foot when that was from the main building and it is a well maintained building and my first impression was very clean. our room was small, but comfortable and very sufficient for overnight. the breakfast was served in the main building and there is a very plentiful menu and eating was very well prepared. our only problem was that the postcode has taken us somewhere completely random, not sure whether it was a problem with my satnav or not.
