"We went here with friends on a Saturday afternoon. It was pretty busy, as you would probably expect. We sat outside and used the app to order, which is easy to do. Most people know what they're getting when they go to a Wetherspoons ..cheap food and drink. On this occasion, though, the quality was lacking, as was the service. The staff just didn't seem to care. We found them to be unhelpful and less than friendly. It was literally plonk the meals down and run. The pizza I ordered was burnt and my other half said the burger was drier than the Sahara and needed sauce One of the few good points was the for cocktail pitchers, which went down well. It was more a visit of convenience rather than somewhere we would actually plan to go to and this visit did nothing to change our minds."

Everything you would expect from a wetherspoons and very quick service. However unfortunately we had the table near the door where people would go through to smoke and it would really slam shut every time- the door needs fixing!

We decided to stop in for lunch on a whim, and were promptly seated. It was a pleasant experience to enjoy a meal without any obtrusive loud voices in the background. The set menu offered a limited selection but the food was cooked perfectly to our liking. Thank you for the great service.

Went to meet my friend for a catch up for an hour. I had a spicy chicken meal and ordered some Halloumi on side, received Halloumi fries then really burnt Halloumi and only had a few pieces. Cost me for the Halloumi which I...wasn’t happy about. Overall the spicy chicken meal was quite nice but the chips weren’t great. Hope to have a better experience next time: Got offered a free dessert or drink, chose a drink but didn’t drink it as was too full.

I popped in the other day and I thought I try the Mangalorean roasted cauliflower and spinach curry it was really tasty, I do prefer a much hotter curry but it was well worth the price which a drink as well. I am not a...vegetarian but will highly recommend it . Place was clean and staff we great too .Justin who served me was very polite . I would say this place is the better out of all Wetherspoons in Derby . Now I'm here again waiting to tuck in to this burger

Called in on Valentines day and no heating on. When asked why and how long the assistant behind the bar said it was in hand so we sat with our hats and coats on along with other customers... I asked if my husband and I...could have a free hot drink as it was cold and was told no and I went on to say that all the customers should be offered free hot drinks We were there for valentine lunch but after a while moved on somewhere else... Sorry Thomas Leaper you let your customers down that day

We used to visit regularly when we lived in Derbyshire, so its our go to pub when we come back to Derby. We like to sit upstairs. The staff are wonderfully attentive and good at their jobs. Great food and drinks, served fast and with...a smile. Still looking good despite being refurbished more than a decade ago. How do they manage to keep it so clean? It must be the different class of customers to our new local, the Prior John in Bridlington, which although only refurbished years ago, is turning into a cess pit! Well done Thomas Leaper!

Went in here at lunchtime for food plus drinks. Nice and clean, friendly staff and the meal was excellent. Would suggest you sit in the main body of the pub as the doors leading to the smoking area were not closed properly when people went...outside for a smoke making it pretty chilly. This pub is next door to another Wetherspoons The Standing Order which is good too. I had to smile at the comments from the last reviewer regarding the Prior John at Bridlington could not agree more! We live in Nottingham but holiday in Bridlington twice a year.

My wife and I went for lunch to this incredible restaurant that we have been passing by for years. We were not sure if it was open, but we were pleasantly surprised to find out that it was upstairs overlooking Derby Cathedral and Iron Gate, the best part of Derby. We both started with a delicious mushroom soup, which was the best we have ever tasted. We then chose from the set lunch menu - my wife had spinach ricotta tortellini in a delicate sauce, while I had chicken in a Dijon sauce. Both dishes were excellent. The service and staff were very pleasant, and we are looking forward to returning.

"My friend and I wanted somewhere different to go for some late lunch and so we decided on the Cosy Club. Although my friend had been once before a while back, it was my very first time visiting. As you walk in, you're greeted with an almost vintage-y feel and it's great! Old paintings upon the wall and retro furniture too, but that's not all. Ascending the stairs to the top, we got to the first bit of the club which is the bar area and what a fab area it is too, to relax and enjoy and Beveridge or two. Further down is where the restaurant is located and a lovely restaurant it is too. Very ornate with a fancy oldy-worldy vibe, almost like stepping back in time. The decor and glass chandeliers make for a very luxurious, almost palatial feel. The staff were really friendly and showed us to a table where after a short time of waiting, we had water poured for us before choosing what we'd like to eat and drink. I decided to go for the dirty chicken burger and I'm glad I did. The portion size was great, and there was plenty going on in the burger; the flavours were tantalising! Everything was cooked really well and tasted good (oh and the berry cider they have is certainly worth a try! After spending time enjoying our meal, we paid for the bill and were able to make our way, with our drinks, to the bar area to take a sit and enjoy the vibe further. I would certainly recommend the Cosy Club to anyone looking for something different, with a cool vibe and great food. Thank you to the staff for a pleasant and enjoyable visit, will certainly be returning! :"
