"Came for Sunday lunch with famalam after a weekend away in Lincoln. Sadly I'm not a fan. The staff didn't seem that friendly or welcoming tbh which is a shame- however! Please don't blame the staff themselves for this, they are young and working very hard. Maybe it's the atmosphere? Idk. My rating is actually based on the food alone. Ok the pork and crackling was delicious!!! I can't fault that. But the Yorkie puds were as dry as death valley in July. Under neath the pork were two sad little roasties and a tiny blob of mash hiding away like woodlice beneath a stone. Everyone on my table had a roast and the veg and apple sauce was shared between us- not enough of either. Gravy weak and runny. I'm so sorry I wanted to like it but I just didn't."

1st visit and will definitely return. Great village pub with great views from the garden. Dog friendly too. Thanks to the staff for a great relaxed environment.

Super slow service, Pie of the day , rock hard , spoon of mash , 3 pieces of broccoli for £16! No fish of any kind on menu …..Bank Holiday disaster ! No offer to put things right

The Sunday roast at this restaurant is great overall, but I have one complaint - the roast potatoes were very poor. As a chef myself, I think they need to change their method and type of potatoes. Additionally, the mash was tasteless. However, everything else was spot on. Voir le carte

Took a friend for lunch knowing it would be good and wasn’t disappointed. The roast beef was perfect pink and delicious. Gravy and Yorkshire puddings to die for. Service as ever was attention, genuine and just the right balance. Location and view is also great. We’ll be back again soon.

Visited for Fathers Day, for Sunday Lunch. I, and my family thought the food were excellent. However, it was the very friendly staff that made us feel very welcome that made the biggest impression. We live only 5 minutes away if Waddington so will visit regularly, now we know this gem of a place.

I would just like to say that we popped in for a couple of drinks, and the welcome we had from the bar staff was superb. We then met the landlady and her partner, and as strangers to the area were made to even feel more welcome. We will certainly return , and would like to say Thankyou. It’s nice to find a local dining pub that has got it right. The open fires on a chilly day were very welcoming. The Sunday Lunch was excellent and great value. The atmosphere was wonderful, the staff were excellent and it has a beautiful view over the Vale of Nottingham. The menu was well crafted and priced fairly. Congratulations to the owners!

Visited here for the first time, with our dogs, and after 5 minutes sat down outside Anyway, nice surprise to learn dogs were allowed inside so in we went. What was initially a “drink or 2” turned into quite a lot more, and we ordered food. Menu is decent for a local pub, nothing too fancy so pretty safe. Not too sure about the presence of Halloumi in the starter, and the rib eye was about 4oz for £27 and very overdone, but as it was a Tuesday perhaps it wasn’t main chef on? Around 7pm the place suddenly filled up with locals playing guitars, recorders and such who looked like they had a thoroughly good night playing music and drinking. Would go back as friendly staff and welcoming.

"We choose this spot because of the many positive reviews. I guess we turned up on a bad day!I have only been introduced to coffee a few years ago despite being in my mid 50’s and really don’t like coffee unless a well made flat white. I travel the world frequently for work and always ask the same question, can you make a flat white? The reason being unless the person is a passionate barista I rarely get a coffee I enjoy. This question clearly upset the lady serving us who ‘rolled her eyes out loud’ by the question and then represented the request to her colleague in a manner that was more like ‘we have a pain in the arse’ than ‘can we make this gentleman a nice coffee. (Yes we overheard).Everything was fine except the flat white was a milky coffee and not something I enjoyed. Not a problem though. I never said a word but when asked at the counter how things were I thought I would say everything was good except the ‘flat white’. Immediately confronted by both in very hostile way was very surprising as I was only answering a question I thought they were interested in hearing I placed a review on their website and their response is a really good example of their attitude. Instead of focusing on service recovery they wanted to blame me and absolve themselves of any responsibility.I of course mentioned this to a few people in Sleaford and surprise surprise was met with very similar responses, ‘we don’t go there anymore as the staff can be very rude’ Looking forward to seeing how the proprietors decide to respond to this one."
