"We made a reservation weeks in advance but when we arrived, there was no table reserved for us. Despite this, we were seated without issue, but it seemed like we were being viewed as an inconvenience. The menu options looked appealing, which is why we chose to dine there, but the prices were quite high. My friend ordered a roast dinner and was excited for a traditional Sunday roast, but was disappointed when her meal arrived with raw parsnips and stuffing. When we brought this to the attention of the staff, they insisted the food was cooked properly, which we found to be dismissive and rude. Although they eventually replaced the dish, it was too late as I had already finished my meal. The lack of apology or any form of compensation left us feeling dissatisfied. The staff's behavior, including whispering and staring at us while we ate, only added to our discomfort. Despite hoping for some form of gesture, such as a complimentary drink, our expectations were not met. The lack of follow-up to ensure our replacement dish was satisfactory was disappointing. We left without a word of thanks or apology. The overall experience was disappointing and overpriced. We will not be returning to The Telegraph, instead opting for a more welcoming and friendly venue such as The Artichoke or The Cardigan Arms."
