Had a fabulous dinner here tonight. Perfectly cooked scallops, skate wing, and langoustines. Wish we could have stayed here during our time in Orkney and eaten here every night. Next time!

what a beautiful dog-friendly restaurant. the best culinary experience we had in many years. eating was absolutely divine and the service wonderful. make sure they book in advance. they will not be disappointed.

Very good ambience, staff very considerate, good WiFi. Probably the best quality food you'll be served in Orkney but portions are neat and prices are top but they are fully booked all the time, so a place to share special occasions or when you wish to spoil someone.

I had the pleasure of eating here last Saturday and today. can not recommend it enough. fabulous spits and cocktails. the setting is perfect. as someone who moved to orkney from the edinburgh lothian region, I always felt that in an up market it is trendy modern place to eat and drink and the house store meets the place. fantastic. xxx

What a beautiful place for dinner! The menu featured so many local suppliers that it was hard to decide where to begin, so we kicked things off with a local gin as we explored the offerings. One of the starters, the cauliflower dish, was even better than we had expected from the description. The lamb was perfectly cooked, and the carrots were sweet and cooked just right. Additionally, the dining room, which is housed in a lovely building, is bright and airy. The service was exceptionally attentive, knowledgeable, and a lot of fun.

We stayed in Orkney for three nights and dined here every evening. I highly recommend everyone do the same. The scallops were the best I've ever tasted, and the fish was both fresh and expertly prepared. The steak paired wonderfully with Highland Park Scotch. The mocktails were also delicious. The staff were incredibly friendly. As for the rooms, they featured a comfortable bed and a spacious bathroom (which was my favorite part). The internet connection was decent too. The only drawback was that the restaurant service could be slow when it was busy, but the atmosphere remained pleasant. I personally didn’t mind, as I often ordered more, but it’s helpful to set your expectations accordingly.

As for dinner, it was by far our favorite meal of the holiday. At first, I was unsure about the menu and worried that our three children wouldn't enjoy it, but I was completely mistaken; everyone finished their plates! We had chicken, lamb, sirloin, and scallops, and each dish was truly amazing. For dessert, we enjoyed homemade ice cream, banana cake (which was even better than it sounds), and treacle tart. For those unfamiliar—especially Americans like us—treacle tart is similar to a torte that tastes reminiscent of the caramelized sugar topping of crème brûlée. Extremely disappointing. We have dined several times previously and thoroughly enjoyed the meals, the last occasion 6 months ago. However, it appears a new chef has been employed and the menu has changed for the worst and portion size drastically reduced. The £14 scallop starter consisted of 3 meagre 50p sized pieces, bread and butter £3 extra. The salmon main, £26 and 1 x 3 size, was drowned in some sort of onion soup and topped with a nest of thin noodles.
