"Fantastic little pub with a super cozy atmosphere, great ales and other beers/ciders, soaked in history and everything else one would come to expect from an english pub. However, the food was below standard, especially considering they charge a little more than average compared to other pubs around here. The hummus was an inedible soup of raw and bitter lemon, the camembert was baked to within an inch of its life leaving a salty gloop and sadly, the grilled mediterranean vegetables were raw, save a couple of griddle marks left for what one would assume is effect. There was little attention placed on the full plates returning to the kitchen from our table, nor any form of dialogue when our concerns were aired. The bill was paid in full with no final discussion on how are meals were, so while I would absolutely return for the beer and atmosphere, I would hope this fantastic new team would pay closer attention to what leaves the kitchen and how customer concerns are addressed."

We had a wonderful dining experience! The food was delicious, featuring some of the best mussels we've ever tasted, along with a delightful homemade crème brûlée. We also enjoyed some lovely local ale. The atmosphere was relaxed, and the hosts were incredibly warm and welcoming. We definitely plan to return! I had a wonderful lunch experience. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, and the food was absolutely delicious. I ordered mussels with bacon, cider, and cream, and as someone who frequently enjoys mussels, I can confidently say these were the best I’ve had in quite a long time. The mussels were big, juicy, and sourced locally from Fowey, cooked to perfection. The dish was quite substantial, packed with plenty of mussels and lots of vegetable bacon, possibly with some fennel as well. I loved it! My partner also had no complaints about his burger. They offer locally brewed beers, welcome dogs, and are open to non-locals. Plus, they host quiz nights on Sundays. It’s a lovely place ov...

"A good venue for a decent meal and peaceful night 's sleep in a convenient location. Some niggles. Liked · The rooms were clean, nicely decorated and the beds were v.comfortable. Functional and clean bathrooms with heated/steam free mirrors always a nice touch. The bedroom anciliary double gazing worked well to significantly reduce the passing traffic noise to the front (since property is right on the A39 . The included breakfast was tasty. This is a friendly, cosy and clean Pub in an ideal location for both Truro and Falmouth (being roughly midway . We had the Sunday Carvery and thought that this was tasty and reasonable value for money. Although we did experience some issues, we would likely consider staying again. Our summary would be that it 's a good venue that has the potential to be great, with some further attention to basic details (like: functional bedroom heating more joined up bar service . Disliked · The in room heating (appeared to be wall mounted electric oil filled radiators could NOT be made to function in either of our rooms AT ALL giving the appearance of being past their best, with illegible small LED control panels for which there were no instructions supplied. This was faulted out to the staff on our first evening (of a 3 night stay and, although we were informed that the manager will come out tomorrow these were NEVER successfully remedied whilst we were there. We were provided with a small portable oil filled radiator, which served our purposes OK but suggest that, once frosts and 'proper ' Winter sets in, the inability to heat bedrooms effectively will very likely prove to be an issue for future guests(! Although the staff were generally very friendly, there was an occasion on one of the evenings, when a drinks/snack order was placed with the passing staff member and after a 10 mins plus wait (were thinking just how long does it take to pour 2x drinks and grab a bag of snacks? the same staff member was chased, only to receive the reply: The receipt machine is broken, so the order didn 't go through... SO... have a backup system, then maybe?!!! (possibly we 'd still be waiting? Another observation was that many of the staff appeared to be very young and had the air of being rather inexperienced... but then we guess that everyone has to learn somehow. Parking: Parking filled rapidly on Weekends so worth arriving a little early to secure a spot. Price per person: £100 Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4 Recommended dishes: Roast Beef, Full English Breakfast, Moules Mariniere, Smoked Salmon and Eggs Benedict Parking space: Somewhat difficult to find parking"

"Stayed here overnight on a business trip today . Booked through a company agent and had a meal booked a room breakfast. On arrival, the parking is somewhat awkward, luckily I bagged a spot directly opposite the pub this is not a pub car park but free parking is available however maybe worth dropping your bags off before parking up in the local area. On entry to the pub I was greeted and shown to my room where my key was laid on the bed, nice room, towels tea coffee, hair dryer and generally a cozy room room 2 . Good wifi also. It was a bit cold so I closed the window wide open in October? , the room radiator was off so turned it up but the heat never came maybe on a timer? I did take this up with the hosts and asked for a portable heater which never came. I was offered a different room very quickly which was lovely Heavy rain and weather in the area at the time, after checking in to the first room, I decided to work from my pc, the room then sprung a leak over the bed, after an hour of being in the room, it became apparent, nothing major but a roof leak. I reported it later and suspected due to it being an old building this was probably a one off leak but did need investigating. A bulb was out on a bed side cabinet, surely this was a room check? A loose toilet seat needed tightening up , and the shower, on ‘it’s hottest setting’ was tepid look warm. Also the central heating was not on, I mentioned this to the manager on shift whom was great and came to see me during my evening meal and made a point of approaching me which was really nice and showed the establishment management where kept informed of issues as guest checked in well done staff! , however a heater never appeared. Later in the evening I resided in my second room, again there was no heating. The girl behind the bar was superb and so apologetic"
