The Spread Eagle is a spacious pub and restaurant with accommodations, located in the charming village of Rolleston-on-Dove. The entrance can be a bit challenging to find, but once you arrive, the atmosphere is welcoming and inviting.

I've visited this restaurant a few times, and each time I've found the staff to be very welcoming. It's a cozy spot with an extensive menu featuring a variety of food options, as well as a great selection of beers and other beverages. Voir le carte

However, the issues began as soon as we sat down and ordered our drinks. It took over 30 minutes for them to arrive, which was a disappointing start. Then we placed our food orders, and we ended up waiting 45 minutes for our meals—perhaps due to staffing shortages. While the food was enjoyable, it felt quite overpriced for what I would describe as average pub fare. I ordered the Hunter's Chicken, but instead of a chicken breast, it resembled more of a chicken burger. The long wait really overshadowed the experience. My family and I try to dine out for lunch at least once a month to catch up, and we’ve tried many pubs and garden centers in the Etwall, Sudbury, Draycott, Hanbury areas. I r...

Oh how the great fall.. This used to be our “go-to” pub for Sunday roast, so much that we would recommend it to everyone. we came yesterday (Sunday the 20th of November) and it was a completely different pub from the last time we visited. The service was incredibly slow and multiple times we felt as though we had been forgotten, long gaps between courses, dishes getting forgotten and drinks orders not being taken. Such a shame, as the food is still as tasty as ever. But you have to wait an extremely long time to get it.
