"We had originally planned to dine at the Toby Jug next to the Premier Inn, but were turned away as we had not made a reservation. Fortunately, we saw a sign on a tree advertising The Ruishton Inn, located a 5-minute walk from the Premier Inn. We decided to give it a try and were pleasantly surprised. While the exterior appeared a bit rundown, we received a warm welcome and excellent service right from the start. The menu offered a variety of options, from steaks to more traditional pub dishes, catering to all tastes. The food was delicious, home-cooked, and reasonably priced. We also enjoyed a Chilean merlot with our meal. We were so satisfied with our experience that we returned the next evening. My friend loved the lamb shank so much that she ordered it again on our second visit. I must also mention the friendly teenage waitress who served us; she was welcoming and a credit to the pub. The Ruishton Inn may not be the place for those seeking a modern, cocktail-serving pub with a charcuterie board, but if you appreciate a traditional, old-style pub with classic pub fare like pies and chips, you will love it here."

The buffet provided was excellent. The food was a very good selection of sweet and savoury. A separate small table was laid out for the two special diets requested. We were able to have one of the rooms to ourselves. Thank you so much.

Called in on spec for an evening meal . Made very welcome Excellent local beer and very tasty food with selection of fresh vegetables. It is very much a country pub despite being close to Taunton with an interesting decor.Fully recommend

This charming country pub is conveniently located within walking distance of the Premier Inn. The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming, and the staff are attentive. The menu offers a good variety of options, making it a great spot to enjoy a cozy winter evening. Voir le carte

The good thing about this pub was the young waitress. She was pleasant and efficient but the place is grim! It’s like a trip into the 80’s with a dog bed in the corner of a room and a pile of newspapers piled on a mobility scooter on view as you walk to the restaurant. The food was ok , nothing special but I found the whole place so unpleasant and unfriendly I couldn’t wait to leave!!

Was recommended to try the evening menu at the Ruishton Inn and duly arrived at 7 pm .....Immediately Impressed by the cheery welcome given by the staff, and the lovely atmosphere right through the bar and restaurant area . The comprehensive menu offered was good .....and the standard of cuisine was superb, as was the attentive service at all courses. In all I cannot remember a better meal anywhere at the competitive prices charged ....if anyone is in the area I unreservedly recommend a visit to THE RUISHTON INN .....well done team ...

We stayed two nights at the Premier Inn a couple of minutes walk from the hotel was the Ruishton Inn. Local country pub and as the hotel didn’t have a bar or restaurant we went there rather than the Miller Carter next door. Support local was the idea. Sadly the pub food was shocking. We were sat next to the kitchen and constantly head beep beep beep. The lady running the kitchen was cooking everything in the microwave which led to us receiving 2 adult and two kids meals which weren’t edible. We paid and left but my wife couldn’t leave without passing comment which they didn’t seem to care about. The prices were high for what was on offer and quality wasn’t worth half the price. If you stay a... Voir le carte

When our meals arrived, my steak was severely overcooked and extremely small for a medium to well done order. The scampi portion was minuscule, and I only received six chips on the side. My plate also included half a grilled tomato, a few mushrooms, and a spoonful of peas. My partner's lasagne was burnt and flavorless, accompanied by burnt garlic bread and an inadequate portion of chips. Despite our dissatisfaction with the food, the waiter offered a lackluster apology and made no effort to address our concerns. Ultimately, we decided to cut our losses and leave the restaurant. On our way back to our accommodation, we had to stop and purchase additional food as we were still hungry. We also...

When we arrived at the delapidated establishment we gave it the benefit of the doubt and went in. Upon arrival we were greeted in the traditional Ruisden way of ignoring you totally. We then sat down in a room that resembled a working man’s club you would only find in a 1970s mining town. Once we had established ourselves on the bench seats that were harder than wolverines claws, we ordered 3 pints of san Miguel which came to £18. Which considering we weren’t paying for any other bar staff, upkeep of decor, entertainment or any sign of additional costs i thought was a bit steep. Having settled in and enjoyed two more rounds we noticed his only other customer had left and so we got up to orde...
