had an excellent meal Saturday evening, everything was great, my wife and I are vegetarian and carnivores or have nothing but compliments for our food and the friendly service we have received. will be reused

We had a takeaway. It was very tasty. We picked from the ‘specials’ and we’re not disappointed. The Bindi Bharjee was dry and full of flavour. They only take cash but the coop has a cash machine in it. If you like a curry, I...can recommend this restaurant.

I love this place. The food is exceptionally good, especially when you consider we’re in the middle of ... nowhere really and they serve up the best authentic, beautifully flavoured food. Actually just thinking of the place is making me salivate. I would recommend it...to anyone wanting to get their ‘curry fix’ and the staff are all fabulous too. Polite and attentive. Voir le carte

It’s never happened to me in the past, having to cancel a takeaway delivery for being too slow. Unfortunately this place has ‘broken my cherry’ after blissful years over minutes waiting and still not arrived. No warning when ordering nor when phoning...after an hour to check if everything was ok. Unfortunately, customer service wasn’t a strong point. A shame as we’ve dined here before but never again if it risks being THAT slow!

tonight the royal spice and sat in the restaurant. every curry I have from here is absolutely faultless. my curry is the chicken tikka makhani and catches the chef to make it madras hot. please do not believe that the negative reviews that some people have left against this beautiful family business. the food is freshly cooked to order and the food quality is so good, yes it is busy and they may have to wait, but they know that is worth waiting. royal spice 5 stars of me

Ordered a takeaway. Phoned ahead to order to collect, a very friendly lady answered the phone and took down our order, and gave us a mins wait which was spot on. The food was great, particularly the Lamb Vindaloo, Chicken Tikka Pasanda, Chicken Tikka...Masala, Chicken Murkhani and Salmon. The butter chicken sauce seemed to have split, as the cream had risen to the top and was a touch watery when stirred in. But all the other dishes were incredible. We ordered some onion bhajis but unfortunately they were missing when we opened the bag, otherwise this would have been Voir le carte

We ordered our meal not long after it opened and told it would be delivered within mins. We waited over two hours despite several phone calls where we were told it was minutes away’ they lied. We complained and the delivery guy...wouldn’t give us our food until he had all the money (I suggested compensation a quarter of the bill). To top it all off, they missed one of the meals out! I went into the restaurant the next day and they guy didn’t say sorry but did offer us food as compensation. I refused so we got back (minus the missing meal, so more like All in all, don’t bother. This place is a disgrace.

We ordered a takeaway from the restaurant when we were visiting Modbury. I ordered a Tandoori Mixed Grill and my wife a Lamb Tikka, which was totally inedible. The lamb was so hard and dry it was impossible to chew. The chicken in the mixed...grill was not as bad but certainly too hard. There was a complimentary salad that should have come with a health warning. The shredded lettuce was brown and after a rummage there was one slice of cucumber and a quarter of a tomato. They also included two popadums which were crisp but left a weird aftertaste. We both agreed this was the worst takeaway either of us have ever suffered.

As visitors to the area we were looking forward to a good curry. This was not to be. What a waste of King prawn madras was not hot and tasted nothing like a madras. This king prawns could have come from Iceland frozen foods,...definitely not the lovely ones we get in our local Indian restaurant (they come from the Bay of Bengal). They were also tough and overcooked. The chicken rezzala was bland and unmemorable. The butter chicken and the murgh maltan were indistinguishable in flavour, so much so we weren’t sure which was which. The spicy chicken tikka was neither spicy or appeared to have any chicken in it.
