We saw a small restaurant on the mane road and decided to come for lunch. Service was very good and quick. Server said to as about fish that is fresh and tasty and we decided to order. So quick review about food. Is was fantastic...fresh and tasty. We happy to come back again.

of a beautiful young man. Eating was okay. no trace and trace, no handsanitiser glad I had my own, no social distancing was glad to get out of there. I was suddenly surrounded by a four-headed family and had to move, could hardly get my chair out. no place 2 meters! the young waiter helped us bring our food and drinks to another table. relaxing small restaurant with excellent, friendly service and good eating. the traditional fish and chips were well cooked and of good proportion. I have to say that the institutions were somewhat basic, although for their purpose it seems perfectly sufficient to be a work. but the whole experience was pleasing and in harmony with the southend vibe. I would definitely visit again.

We (11 of us, from 13 to 64) decided we needed a snack after our journey and were glad that we chose this place. The staff were great, and the range of early morning snacks was great. We all found something that we liked and...enjoyed it. Even better, was that it was really good value. (Less than £40 for the 11 of us to have a drink and a snack) It was so nice that we went back there before we left for home.

for the free fireworks and the most important fish and chip places were really busy, but a table for 8 of us here without problems. most had fish and chips and were impressed that the fish perfectly cooked, beautiful and...flaky and the dough was really light, chips smaller than chip shop, but well cooked and delicious, my daughter had the torte and it was a real disc of homemade cakes that they werewolfing. the staff was very friendly and chatting with the children, service was fast and efficient. We were really well looked after today in this great little cafe with a lovely atmosphere. Kids meals were excellent value at £3 each, fish and chips was well cooked and appetising, but menu was more than just fish and chips, good cafe fare, table...service and proper plates and tables etc all nicely laid out. Love the convenient seafront location and understated retro charm of the building which has been gently and tastefully freshened up and has a few nice photos from its history on the walls. An unpretentious place where they treat you nicely and I’ll definitely come back again when in Southend. Well done Rose Restaurant, was glad we stumbled in.

Wow!! what a little gem this place is, we arrived on Monday for a few days away. Looking for a breakfast we came across this place and so glad we did! Breakfast without a doubt are the best in Southend and evening meals were a...real surprise too. Out of the 5 nights we had 3 of our evening meals here (the other 2 places we tried were a lot more expensive and no where near as good) and seeing as it was the best food and best value we returned night after night. Please give this place a try as I’m certain you will love it. Special shout out to Kyra who looked after us our whole stay, 5star service from her on every visit and you could see how much she loved her job. We will deffo be back when...

We went into Rose Restaurant for fish and chips, what a mistake the place is extremely shabby, the choice of fish was either cod or plaice, fishcakes or scampi. We were told that all the fish was fresh and the chips home made so in...spite of the appearance of the place we ordered cod and chips and a Childs meal. When the food arrived the fish was ok but I really wasn't sure if it was Cod or Plaice it looked like cod but tasted of plaice obviously cooked in oil that had been overused. The chips were frozen and the peas were tinned and cold. I used the toilet upstairs which was dirty with a broken window in the cubicle and there were bird feathers on the floor.
