"The children ordered spaghetti bolognese, which was a decent Ragu. The pasta was cooked well. My wife had the carbonara, which was also prepared well and the sauce was satisfactory. I chose the Veal Milanese, but unfortunately, the veal was bland and tough, likely not fresh but possibly defrosted. The breadcrumbs were oily, and the spaghetti Napoli was just okay. My daughter tried the supposedly homemade Tiramisu, which was not authentic but more of a creamy cake that tasted alright. In all honesty, the chefs seem to struggle with preparing Italian cuisine. I am puzzled as to how this establishment received a rating of 4.7. People of Cumbernauld, please take note that this is not genuine Italian food; rather, it is food with an Italian influence prepared to an average standard. The staff were pleasant and proficient at clearing tables, but little else. Overall, I would rate the food a 1, service a 1, and atmosphere a 1."

"Dalshanan Farm was the next on the list of “Scottish Curry Award winners”. I’ve been looking forward to this for a few weeks since visiting two other winners (Edinburgh). We drove 80 miles each way for what we expected to be a great curry. Unfortunately the experience didn’t live up to the expectation. We ordered a mixed platter to start which was just a plate of deep fried things! Over cooked (especially the samosa) , dry and pretty bad. A shame considering the reputation. My curry was bland, under seasoned and zero spice. I did raise this and the fantastic waiter (I suspect owner) changed it for another dish that apparently had more flavour. It did come out quickly but unfortunately had marginally more flavour and was spicier but absolutely doesn’t warrant the “HOT” warning. Looking at some reviews on here it seems like things have changed since they won the award. It was a long way to go for a meal that wasn’t memorable at all. Such a shame."

"This was my first visit to the Smiddy Inn and it certainly won't be my last. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the food and service were excellent. Despite it being my first time there, I was impressed and will definitely be returning. I came back again tonight and even though the staff may have been different, the warm welcome and delicious food remained consistent. Keep up the great work!"

"Went for lunch with family, service was slow, we ordered 2 club sandwiches, a kids meals and a tuna toastie. We waited about 15 minutes for our order, and we got the kids' meals and club sandwiches. These looked nice, got lots on the plate and tasted okay. I then waited a further 10 minutes for my toastie when this finally came there was no apology about the wait?!! This was served on a small plate with a handful of chips, the toastie was lukewarm and tasted salty(I could've made a better one myself). Place is extremely overpriced for what you get, not enough staff and no one seemed interested when I looked to ask about my meal. I will not be back!! "The food at this restaurant was fantastic and the service we received was exceptional. Our server, Hannah, has waited on us multiple times and she is always friendly, cheerful, and incredibly helpful. The parking situation was ideal, with plenty of free parking available. We had dinner, with prices ranging from £20 to £30 per person. The food and service both received top marks, while the atmosphere was also enjoyable. We recommend trying the Surf and Turf dish when visiting this restaurant."
