The Raven Inn - Carte

The Raven served up fantastic food tonight with a special street food menu. The atmosphere was great, the staff were lovely, and the food was delicious.

We were only in the area for a few days and saw The Raven pub had very good reviews on Trip Advisor. We only stopped for a drink on the first night but have to say partner said it was ONE OF THE BEST PINTS OF 6X he had ever tasted. Just to make absolutely sure we decided to have dinner at the pub a few nights later just a word of warning the pub is so popular it would be very sensible to pre book your table the 6X was excellent again. Dinner was great thoroughly enjoyed the pub and if ever in the area again will definitely return a real community pub with a great atmosphere.

This place saved us on Saturday night as we moored up late at a nearby marina way after 8pm when they officially stopped serving food. I called the legend that is Lynne and she said she would get us fed if we got a move on. A half hour walk later we turned up soaked through and ravenous and Lynne made sure we all had a drink in our hand and 4 of their incredible cheeseburgers! The food was great, the atmosphere was warm and inviting and the banter from Lynne was top drawer! I have heard that the lease for the Raven restaurant is up for sale. I am not surprised, as the menu has hardly changed in two years. The options are limited, especially for those who are pescetarian. I used to enjoy dining at our local pub on Saturday evenings when Sue and Philip were the landlords, and even more so when Natalie and Jerry were there. Unfortunately, the quality has declined since then. After not visiting for nearly a year, I reluctantly booked a table about a month ago and chose the Fish and Chips from the limited menu.
