Great views and location, deducted a star as no decent old school bitter on tap when I was there!

Friendly pub with lovely views of Portland Bill lighthouse and the sea. Good ales and decent food.

Stopped for a drink. Plenty of choice good service, great views. Beware zero phone signal! They do have WiFi but that's feeble too

We were the only guests here at lunchtime and were warmly welcomed and seated. But then... nothing happened, the cellar didn't come. 10 minutes later still nothing, we left.

As a restaurant I would not recommend. We waited 40 minutes for frozen bad tasting food on a Saturday and it wasn’t even crowded. The burger I ordered had a texture like jello and tasted awful. If your there only for the drinks it’s an okay choice at most. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.

We turned up after booking our table at 12pm, and it was shut, due to no staff which is understandable but the way they went about it, no communication to let us know we would be unable to drink just didn’t sit right with me. After reading other food reviews I’m kind of glad I didn’t stay to eat.

Wow absolutely vile place to stay the staff the state of the place I felt like I was in south America in one of the back street villages mould damp staff that clearly haven't brushed there teeth or washed in weeks litraly like a squater camp paid £100 for a night didn't stay left wouldn't give a refund keep the 100 quid depsrate horrid people back entrance like a scrap yard

Challenging times for the Pulpit but as a local have long enjoyed a pint outside after work, 2 days ago with my daughter and granddaughter down in evening for sunny stroll at the Bill, felt like an early bite, very quiet there , so not expecting big menu ,but young staff very obliging and offered 2 bowls cheesy chips, and very excellent they were! Perhaps its how one approaches staff in difficult circumstances….

Booked through booking.com and we're asked what time we would arrive, but when we arrived the front door was locked, and we had to wonder around looking for a door to knock on.found a member of staff who ushered in through the back past all the kitchen etc and said that they had no staff and had to close due to a large party for breakfast. Stood in the bar while the manager talked a new staff member on how to work the bar. Room basic, very noise only 2roons attitude of temp manager poor
