"We love it at The Priory. We stayed in the hotel which is absolutely fine with everything you need for a short break. The restaurant is outstanding with some of the best food and very generous portions. All ingredients are locally sourced too. Again I had the lasagne which is still the best I have ever had even from an Italian restaurant. The Ploughman's salad was unbelievable on the following evening! Lovely fresh salad with fruit, 4 local cheeses, 2 big chunks of granary bread, coleslaw chutney. My husband had the fish and chips on the first evening which consisted of a lovely large piece of fish, some chunky chips, mushy peas tartare sauce. On the second evening he had the steak burger which again was very large with a bowl of accompanying salad and some french fries. Excellent value for money for all meals. Breakfast is included in the price of the room and is always perfectly cooked. There is also a good choice of cereals, fruit yoghurt. The restaurant is quirky but so very relaxing with a really nice ambience. All the staff are wonderful! They all work so hard, very efficient but calm, warm friendly. They make you feel welcome and nothing seems to be too much trouble. We look forward to returning again in a few months time"

Honestly one of tastiest breakfast I have ever had. Service with a smile and a relaxing atmosphere with outdoor seating if required. Julie, Anita and the staff are so accommodating and can supply maps for a pre or post breakfast stroll. Something for everyone!

We often visit scorton on bike rides and i have to say that the priory at scorton is very bad it is meant to be a cyclist type cafe/restaurant but they wont even let you leave bikes outside!!!! The barn across the road is so much better food is better people are nicer!!! Dont bother with this restaurant.

Great dog friendly place to stay, rooms spacious and comfortable we have two large dogs breakfasts were amazing, nearly beat me both mornings but managed in the end to finish them. Evening meal choice was good and food delicious. Staff were so friendly and obliging will definately stay again for the forth time! As a dog owner you just got to love the place.

What others have described as nice decor, I found bizarre and pretentious. I can’t speak for the restaurant but the cafe has very little atmosphere and no beer other than in expensive bottles. The rather odd outsized fixtures, a giant mirror, a large clock , an oversized planter and the tiled floor make this a rather uncomfortable space. People seemed to be enjoying the food but if all you want is a drink it’s not somewhere that I’d recommend.

We go often walking around Scorton. Our highlight of the walks. Stopping for coffee at the priory. We called to the priory today. 4 coffees £11. No problem with the cost. HOWEVER.. The cups dirty, coffee pots with old coffee stains on them and to add insult. Dried egg on the coffee pots. Absolutely disgusting. NEVER AGAIN. It will never put us off visiting Scorton. It will be the Barn across the road for coffee next time. Sorry Priory I never thought in. Million years would I write a bad review for you. I always recommend you to friends. Never agian.
