The Potting Shed - Carte

Whilst on holiday we visited every day The warmest of welcomes and exceptionally nice staff. The food was lovely, coffee was excellent and our doggies were welcomed

We were in the area and decided to stop in for two flat whites and a custard slice. The service was very friendly and attentive, and we appreciated being able to order a large flat white. We sat outside and everything was very good.

Been recommended this place by a friend and if didn't disappoint! Very friendly staff, great service and great breakfast! One staff member was singing which was nice to hear. Will be going back 4 my husband's birthday on the 18th October. Voir le carte

Visited today 27.8 at 12.30pm, was only a few tables with people in there and every other table was reserved. Woman who came to us at front door was very abrupt and said we’re full sorry. There was plenty of tables outside we could have sat at but we were just turned away. Won’t be back

We visited initially for a coffee stop during our weeks holiday and decided to book Sunday lunch for that afternoon. It's was fantastic, fresh, tasty and enjoyable, front of house and hospitality. We enjoyed it so much we visited every morning for breakfast and coffees for the entire week and concluded with an amazing afternoon tea Dog friendly too 10/10, cannot fault

I felt that the restaurant could use a good cleaning, especially outside where there was litter and old food under the tables. The empty tables were full of crumbs and the sofa looked pretty dirty. The food was okay, but the service was lacking. Some of the staff were brusque and short, including at the till in the garden center. However, one cheerful lady made up for it. Overall, I left feeling like we were a burden to those working there. I will probably choose to spend my money elsewhere next time. Voir le carte

As locals, we have frequented The Potting Shed for many years and always enjoyed a warm welcome, especially when accompanied by our well-behaved dog. However, on our last visit, we were abruptly informed that our dog could not be on our laps and had to be on the cold stone floor instead. We found this new rule to be inconvenient and potentially hazardous for our pet. The food was okay, but the change in policy regarding dogs has made us reconsider returning in the future. There are plenty of other dog-friendly places to dine at.

This was our 4th visit to the Potting Shed, the other 3 times was during out of season. Those 3 times we were allowed to sit our little chihuahua dog on our coats, on the wooden seat next to us, because the stone flooring can be too cold for her because of the breed, which they are prone to feeling the cold.. There was no problem those 3 times, but today we were told that no dogs are allowed on the seats. It seems that out of season, when not many people visit, they are happy to allow it to take our money because custom is low, but today with it being busier, we couldn't sit our dog on the chair. We just wanted her to be able to sit on one of the wooden chairs on a coat. We will not be going...

Unfortunately our recent visit will be the last. While they advertise “Dog friendly” they’re unhappy for you to have your pet on your own lap anywhere other than their cold (or burning hot) slate floor. The lady approached to say we weren’t allowed our small dog on a chair or lap, in a very Stand off-ish manner and wasn’t open to discussing this as she walked away after saying her part. She later came to apologise and while this was appreciated there was no sense of cooperation. They have a poster of the Dog Rules yet nowhere does it state this. The flooring is also either freezing when out of the sun, or boiling hot when in the direct sunlight from the windows as it’s black slate. While I u... Voir le carte
