"I booked in at The Pantry for Afternoon Tea on 5th June as a birthday treat for my Mum. I called ahead on the day to check that there would be enough room for my toddlers pushchair and the lady I spoke too said she...would reserve a table with plenty of space. The cafe is lovely and the staff were so friendly and accommodating which extended to being playful with my daughter. It was a really hot day so we were given the choice of having a cold drink instead of a tea. The Afternoon tea selection was fantastic and very tasty, we particularly liked the varied selection of cakes and scones. Mum had a great time too. Thank you all for being so helpful."

We had an afternoon tea delivered for a hen do. Everyone loved their afternoon tea food and it was a highlight of the weekend!

Just called in for lunch on our way to York and this place was a delight. The staff were lovely and our sandwiches were fabulous. Everything was so fresh, and beautifully presented. Would highly recommend!

Parked in car park next door, went in the Pantry sat down and was given a menu after about 15 minutes they hadn't made eye contact or enquired about our order. So as we had no idea how long it would take we got up and left without any comment from staff.

Popped in for lunch after visiting the James Herriott museum and we enjoyed the posh cheese scone platter that was so tasty, accompanied by a good sized pot of tea. We didn’t have room after for any cakes but they looked delicious too. Lovely friendly...atmosphere and we will be returning the next time we’re up this way.

Pre ordered and all ready for collection. Would seriously...recommend them Take away service due to COVID lockdown.

Visited this little gem pne afternoon and sat outside in the sun. We ordered two cream teas, a Bakewell tart and three coffees. All the food was top notch and the scones themselves were divine BEFORE I added the jam and cream!! The staff were...very friendly and helpful and we won't hesitate to visit again when in Thirsk in fact we might make this place the reason FOR our next visit!

Thirsk was our stop off point on route to Richmond and we chose The Pantry for our lunchtime break. The panini choice was very good with most of our group enjoying them along with skinny chips and salad. The presentation was excellent and creative with...small milk churns for our tea and coffee and little colanders for our salads along with cast iron tea pots on large chunks of wooden blocks adding to the whole effect. The service was friendly and efficient ensuring that we all had a memorable meal here. Highly recommended!

"We arrived here for a 2 night stay for a wedding (Fri sat night). PROS: Lynsey the manageress she 100% makes it so fabulous. Lovely, welcoming, looked after us brilliantly. Due to some staff shortages, she was doing what seemed like 10 jobs at once! We ate on one of the nights food was delicious! Great service tasty food. Breakfast was also spot on set us up brilliantly for the day ahead on the Saturday! The Willow room which we stayed in was fab ideal size, lovely cosy too! The whole 2 night stay was extremely reasonably priced the place itself has a great feel about it like a big cosy house! CONS: If you like total darkness, take an eye mask for sleeping as the rooms can get really bright from the early hours. Also, depending on the room, it’s on quite a busy road so can be quite nosy it would be worth having earplugs if you like a quiet surrounding. Due to staffing, the bar doesn’t stay open that late, so be mindful of this, they will however put drinks in your room if you can’t make it back in time for the bar closing. Taxis there are no local taxis, so arranging transport to the wedding we were attending was a nightmare which we didn’t account for! Luckily after 6 different phone calls, we managed to get sorted. The only gripe I had was the confusion over the bill if you decide to charge things to your room, the bills aren’t itemised so it’s difficult to keep track of what has been charged. There was some confusion on checkout over what we should shouldn’t have been charged for, so definitely choose to pay for any extras outright to avoid any confusion or uncertainty before check out. Other than that, it was one of the nicest, most personal stays we’ve had out in a long long time. This was mainly down to the Manageress Lynsey who is fabulous at her job really does make it feel like home makes you feel super welcomed relaxed. Thank you lynsey for really making a stay a one to remember."
