Lovely old building, staff were friendly and there's plenty of space. They were doing a special BBQ event so the normal food was unavailable, so on that basis I won't score the food. We'll be back! Price per person: £1–10 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

I booked a table and went for lunch with my family, and we couldn't have chosen a better place. The traditional pub offered high-quality pub food at a reasonable price, along with amazing drinks. Had a really nice lunch of sausages mash and the day's special of chicken thighs with parmentier potatoes. Everything was delicious. It may cost a couple of pounds more than your average pub but the generous portions and quality of the ingredients were well worth it. And everything was topped off by a friendly barman. This was my first visit to this restaurant and it was excellent. The beer was good and the atmosphere was exactly what I look for in a pub - no loud music or sports on TV, just good conversations. I will definitely be returning! The parking lot has approximately 12 spaces and the price per person is between £10 and £20. The service and atmosphere both receive a rating of 5. Perfect little pub. Quiet. Good music in the back ground. Good food, fast service. Lovely greeting from gent at the bar, very friendly, definitely recommend a visit. We ordered chicken burger and fries. The chicken was real chicken breast slices and seasoned well.. very surprising as we expected reformed breaded chicken burger . Food perfection. We used to love going to the Old George, especially for their Sunday roast. However we found that over the past few months their prices have increased a lot. We went last week and we spent over £30 per person for a roast and a pint, which seems excessive. The food was lovely, but the portions were a bit scarce, especially for the vegetables, only a few green beans and a couple of potatoes. A lovely Sunday lunch. Just there in time after our visit to Hitchin Lavender fields. Don't get out much these days because just like everyone else we've had to tighten our belts so this was a friendly, welcoming place for a spot of lunch. Highly recommend the roast beef. Parking: After driving in and finding no space was a little awkward backing back out. Found a place in a nearby street.
