"What an amazing place! We just stayed for a child-free little weekend getaway in the Kingfisher room and loved it! The service was great, everyone goes the extra mile to help. The food was amazing, we had dinner last night and breakfast this morning. The room was so cozy and had such a beautiful view. We ended up going for a walk, and they were so helpful in suggesting where to go. Definitely looking forward to another visit. Rooms: 5"

"We visited the Dog and Muffler 3 times during a week's stay at a local campsite. We received a recommendation from the workers at the campsite. The manager (we didn't get his name) bent over backwards to accommodate our son's dietary requirements. Nothing was too much. We had an evening meal on our first night and it was all lovely. We returned with more family members (7 of us) for a Sunday lunch and it was fantastic. I had the lamb and I'd recommend it for anyone. Our third visit was just after the kitchen had closed but they still rustled up some of the starters for us. You won't wander past the Dog and Muffler, it takes a bit of finding but it's food, service, cleanliness and decor are a large step above an ordinary pub. Thank you Mike, Saara, Aneiran and Vader"

"brexit meant the usual fight for the personal. the staff was always very friendly and helpful. our room was very kosy, but good for a few days. Eating was very impressive and beverage selection was impressive. lots of space and lots of parking are available. a short walk to the impressive goodrich burg. for us they let themselves be of the fact that the hostelrie is dog friendly. if they are a dog, then ideal for them. we are not and do not like to eat and drink with dogs."

"Once in a while you have a surprise and this was one of those occasions. It’s one of the best Sunday lunch we have had for a very long time. Looked on Google maps and found the the pub local to us where we were staying. Callled in without a reservation but still managed to get us in 2 adults and a dog they could not be more welcoming I don’t think we have met anyone more accommodating. Before we ordered food a fresh bowl of water and treats for our dog. The food was wonderful so fresh and tasty the manager was easy to talk to and so chatty without being over powering or intrusive. We will be back !"

"Beautiful building with a gorgeous interior but unfortunately that's about as good as it got. The lady who greeted us (looked down her nose more like) was very unwelcoming and barely cracked a smile. I found her to be very rude. We booked our meal for 13.15 and we got through 2 courses by 14.20 and when we asked about the sweet menu the ladies response was*I'll have to check the time ... I'm sorry but that's not how you run a hospitality business. The lady had the charm of Basil Fawlty. The food was ok at best with a very high price for what we had. It's such a shame because the building is gorgeous. In my honest opinion. 10/10 for the venue 6/10 for the food 1/10 for the service."
