"We decided to revisit the bakehouse after having dined there some time ago, and we frequent the neighboring Brewers Arms frequently. The restaurant was beautifully decorated for the occasion, and we were promptly seated at our table. The set menu for Valentine's Day was a good selection in our opinion. I enjoyed a generously portioned and well-presented starter that was very tasty. I chose the 5 spiced duck served on a potato cake, while my wife opted for the rack of lamb, both of which came with a good variety of vegetables. The portions were generous and delicious. We were served additional drinks before dessert. I chose the cheese board (which was actually served on a board!) while my wife had a strawberry-based dessert that she found delightful. The cheese board was ample and delicious. I would like to express my thanks and congratulations to Nikki and her staff for their attention to detail and overall good value for money. It was a delightful evening in a wonderful setting."

This is the part where visitors can enjoy a more formal, sit-down dining experience. Sourced from the same kitchens as the Brewers Arms the food is excellent and is an excellent choice if you have longer to savour the food. Strongly recommended.

We have had the pleasure of eating here on many occasions. Nick and her staff are great, very friendly and obliging. The menu is varied, there are always specials available and food is hot and very tasty. We have never had a dissapointing meal here and always look forward to the next visit.

The specials at this restaurant show signs of a skilled chef's involvement. However, the traditional pub food seems to be lacking in quality and may be the work of apprentices. The staff are attentive, but the manager lacks warmth and hospitality. The portions are generous, but the food itself is not of the highest quality. Despite these drawbacks, there are no other dining options in this quaint, old-fashioned village.

The standout item on the menu is the pork belly. We can't resist returning for more. The meal is complemented by a wonderful gluten-free dessert selection and friendly service. The only downside is the limited selection of local cider - with Perry's and Burrow Hill just nearby, we would have hoped for more options, especially since the pub was named a CAMRA pub for 2016. Despite this, it is still a great discovery overall. Voir le carte

We had planned just to have a bar snack but at 6pm the bar was already full as there was football on. We were therefore offered a table in the restaurant. This is simple but nicely decorated and set out, very warm with a fire and very comfy. The menu has a good range of choices and there are also specials. Prices are reasonable. We only had a main each as we were short of time as we were going to a concert in the local David Hall but starts and desserts both looked tempting. There was a good range of local beers on offer too. We couldn't fault either the food or the charming service from both the waitresses.

We had soup and a main soup was lovely taste and hot. The main menu had quite a choice and there was also a specials board so there was something to suit all. It is a large place but we were sitting next to the coffee machine which had broken so they were trying to fix it all the time we were eating the noise of the grinders (for two hours!! was wearing. We should have said something really our fault for not doing so but they needed to get it fixed for the following day as they had a large funeral party to cater for and that had to take precedence. Other than that it was fine. Prices were reasonable, it was clean and staff were friendly

I've lived in the village now for nearly a year and right from our very first trip to the pub we were absolutely shocked by the rudeness of one particular member of staff. The others aren't much better they clearly all hate their jobs, and can't wait to get people out as fast as possible. The food is mediocre at best, and it's so desperately sad that the only pub in this lovely village is tainted by this rudeness. I have never in all my years (most of them spent in rough parts of large towns) encountered such utter bad service and rudeness in a customer service role. We relented and attempted to give them one final chance this week, and they were ruder than ever before. It genuinely feels li... Voir le carte

Having read some bad reviews about The Old Bakehouse, it was with some trepidation that we decided to eat here, on the first night of our 4 night stay in the villiage. The plan was to eat here for the first night, and then go elsewhere, once we'd had a chance to look around.HOWEVER, the food and service were SOOOO good here, that we chose to eat here every night of our stay. Each night we had something different, and each night we weren't disappointed. The food was excellent, Tues/Weds nights are Surf and Turf nights, with 2 steaks, or 2 fish and chips, or 1 of each plus a bottle of wine, all for £22.50. Thurs was Curry night, and Friday Fish night, but the normal menu was also available eve...

Visited this restaurant for a Sunday lunch. It felt as though the staff were in a hurry to serve us and get us out again as quickly as possible. The Sunday menu was reeled off to us verbally and within a couple of minutes we were asked if we were ready to order. I had to ask for the normal bar menu as I have eaten here in the past and knew that it was possible to choose from this menu in addition to the sunday lunch choices. However, we opted for a sunday roast. The food appeared within 5 minutes, far too quickly I thought. The vegetables were nicely cooked but the meat was somewhat tough to cut, the roast potatoes pale in colour and the Yorkshire pudding a little soggy. I have eaten here in...

"Our first visit to The George Inn at Donyatt, we've drove by it time's going to other places and it always looks such a nice place. We decided to have lunchtime meal there to celebrate our anniversary and weren't disappointed, beamed ceilings, log burner and brick fireplace, farm tools and pictures on the walls cosy and oldie worldy with friendly locals just how we like our pubs. The staff and owner were really friendly, polite and chatted to us as if we locals from the village, the waitresses were smartly dressed, polite attentive always smiling, cheerful, charming and chatty. Even the chef nodded and smiled to us the couple of times he walked through and the bar and table areas were spotlessly clean. Our meals starters and mains were absolutely fantastic and amazing as was the presentation, they were hot good amounts of food with tender succulent meats and vegetables and the mashed potatoes were creamy smooth and light and have never had better. There's a good selection of beers and I had local ale which was amazing, clear, cool with a nice head and tasted like nectar. We will definitely be coming back soon and we can definitely recommend this pub, restaurant and hotel to family, friends, neighbours and anyone. A very big well done and thank you to the owners, all the staff especially the chef, please please please keep this pub the way it is, it's an absolute treasure and gem of a place to find. YOU ALL MADE OUR ANNIVERSARY VERY SPECIAL Especially in these times when a majority of local village pubs are closing down and being turned into houses or flats, we must all support our local village pubs like The George Inn."
