The Ocean - Carte

The pub is excellent and the staff are very hardworking. The food is delicious and of high quality. The atmosphere is very friendly and welcoming, and the pub is also dog-friendly.

Had a great few days visiting this place, would totally recommend and if other establishments want to see what good looks like in following the new government guidelines I would suggest a visit to the Ocean Bar in Brean

Very helpful staff, we were made to feel welcome , rear terrace stepping down is nice we did have good weather). They Have a pager device system to collect food when ready and works well. Staff always visibly cheerfully cleaning up and it was busy. Voir le carte

Aye and drank here a few time as it was a short and enjoyable walk down the beech from our caravan. Little unusual in that the pub and food servers are different people. Enjoyed a couple of nice pizzas, reasonably priced and well cooked. Lovely spot if the sun shines, sit and look over the bay. Children’s play area and outdoor bar to.

I wrote a positive review in 2015 when the restaurant was called the Ocean Bar. This week, the weather was fantastic, but there were no parasols for shade. Our children had to stay under the play equipment to escape the heat. Unfortunately, my wife's tea was served cold, and the snacks we ordered online were forgotten. It took five separate visits to our table just to serve us four drinks and two snacks. The service was very disorganized and inefficient.

The wife ordered a cheese burger and this was so over cooked (burnt) that even she couldn't eat it, and she likes burnt food. She took this back and it was replaced by a tuna mayo jacket potato of which she selected. Although this was presented well and looked great, most of the jacket potato was raw, so all she ate was the tuna mayo out of it and the side salad. After taking the first meal back, we would of expected the second meal to cooked perfectly to compensate, but this was no where near the case.Very disappointed and would not recommend for meals.The drinks that we have received during our visits have been good. I loved it down at Ocean Holiday Park last year but a change of supervisor and all of the nice staff leaving since has changed the atmosphere completely. Came in the other day and the ginger girl and the dark haired chap were very rude to customers (not just us). Not to mention I was given an out of date J2O (April 2021) a few weeks ago without being told on the website they were out of date. The food we ordered was long awaited, half the order was missing. When trying to grasp any form of attention from staff to raise the issues above, my wife and I were blanked.Terrible staff, terrible service, terrible experience all round. Would not recommend

It was extremely difficult to order anything at this restaurant because the website wouldn't connect. Many other customers were also experiencing the same issue. A lady said she would come back and take our order if we paid with cash, but she never returned. We eventually placed an order, but we were extremely disappointed. The fruit given to my son was past its best before date. I ordered fish and chips assuming that, being a sea view bar, it would be fresh. However, it turned out to be frozen processed fish and I left half of it uneaten. My partner ordered chicken which was rock solid. It's a shame because this pub used to be lovely when we visited in the past, but something has definitely...

All those who new the gem that was once the Ocean bar with its cosy old world pub style lounge full of Character excellent service, fantastic atmosphere, cosy lighting and great entertainment must feel as sad as myself my friends and family at the way this place has been altered. The horrible bright lights, the clinical look and not even any Acknowledgement from a staff member until we asked how we get a drink (which appeared to be only available via a app) not even any background music when other nearby pubs were buzzing with live entertainment. Desperate to love this place again but a lot needs to change. Thankfully the lovely sea views from the excellent gardens are still to be enjoyed... Voir le carte
